Post Re: Cortex Command Mod Manager / Activities Manager
Alright, a v1.35 bugfix/minor feature release:

Changes:

  • Running Cortex Command from the Mod Manager will now save the skirmish settings and skirmish waves before starting it.

  • Added a "FriendlyName" options to the MMItems.txt files. If your mod has a more obvious name than the title of the mod folder (X2, I'm talking to you), you can add a "FriendlyName = xxx" to identify it in the Add Item window.

  • Undead MMItems.txt file incorrectly stated it was Browncoats. If you have already downloaded the Mod Manager, you will have to overwrite the old MMItems.txt in Undead.rte with the new MMItems_Undead.txt (rename it to MMItems.rte, obviously) in Enhanced_VanillaItems.

  • Enabling and disabling mods will now refresh the Enhanced Skirmish items list. Don't have to restart the Mod Manager to refresh that now.

  • If a file in a mod is in use, the Mod Manager will display a message and not disable/enable the mod, instead of crashing like it did

  • MMItems.txt names are not case-sensitive any more.

  • Added a warning for enabling Unitec, because that was a lot simpler than trying to find that file in the mod manager. If you know any other mods that also have activities files enabled in a different place, I can add those as well.

Not too shabby, eh?

Here's some planned features/ideas:
Load/Save Activities
Load/Save Mod Lists
Group Mods (I have a bunker pack that's a pain to enable all the mods whenever I want to use it, and mods from the Minor Mod Dump will clutter it up right now)

Post Re: Cortex Command Mod Manager / Activities Manager
My mod name is X2 Technologies, not Double.
Double was when i was going to just call it double technologies, but that kinda sounded lame and bland.
But i kept the folder as double so that it was easier for me to write the file paths.

Off-Topic:
And yes i know, the pistol guys are incredibly fragile. Don't worry, my next release will have a new actor, hopefully stronger than pistolero. [i still didnt update spelling wiffles, it is fixed in the next release however.]
And yes, the pods dont show up for some reason, ill fix it. Somehow.

The mod name is X2 Technologies, yes, but the folder is double. It was my understanding that to load a entity from a mod, you had to prefix it with the .rte folder name. (e.g. AAL/TIC) If using X2 Technologies as the Modname in the MMItems file works, and using Double as the modname works, then it means one of two things:

1. CC accepts either a .rte name or a modulename
2. CC can simply ignore the mod to look for a file in

Kicktar, let me look in to that.

EDIT: Lovely. Why oh why did I put this in my code?

Kicktar, I uploaded a new version without that catch, so if you could send me the new error it gives (if it gives a different one), I'll have a much better idea of why it failed. (I know it has something to do with scanning the mods for the mod manager part, but that's it. My best guess is an IOException, meaning it had trouble accessing a file [maybe you had one open in notepad?])

I seem to have the most trouble with this.

I actually just found out that it couldn't load anything in the Disabled_Mods folder. So now it works.

Hm, probably should be looking for Index.ini, instead of index.ini.

Changed that and added a few error handling things. Try it now.

Uh, I think this may be considered a bug. I just started up CC, clicked campaign, and the only mission there was tutorial mission. At all. No custom missions, no vanilla missions, just Tutorial. Also, the Mod Manager kept commenting out one of the terrains in Gotcha's map pack, and it spit out an error till I found the problem. I'm gonna try to fix this tommorrow, but I think I might have to reinstall. Great.

Well if you do, sorry :-( , I didn't say this was bug free.

It's probably commenting out both the campaign missions and that one file because they contain an AddActivity reference. You can always turn enhanced off, that's what I put that option in there for.

EDIT: Looks like I don't have any campaign missions either! It's commenting out the Mission Activities.ini file. I'll have to work it so that it will look for an activity with a PresetName of Skirmish Defense.

I would make sure that MMitems_AAL.txt is renamed to MMItems.txt in the AAL folder, and the same for DarkStorm. Then I would disable all mods except for those two, and see if it works. Some other mods' skirmish activities files, like for UniTec, aren't automatically turned off by the mod manager, and can interfere with Enhanced Skirmish.

Hrmm...If you have one mod in the disabled mods folder, and the same mod in your cc folder, it crashes when you try to disable the one in your cc folder. I tried downloading a new version of a mod and had this happen.

Well you shouldn't have the same mod in both places :P

I'll add that to the "to fix" list (Though do I rename one, or try to merge them?)
