Uhmm. . . It's been over a month now and we still don't have the winners, the front page of the topic says it may take hours or days, it however does not say it may take months, and I believe I speak for all of us when I say that we would rather know who won now and then get a images to put in our signatures(If we placed) later. I may be horridly misinformed but it doesn't seem like much time has been put into the contest prizes, and with this and the lack of posts on the dev log despite the "frequent, not-so-relevant blog posts" I see no reason to check the datarealms page at all.
To sum it up, I know your working on a game and and I know that takes a lot of time to do. Even when I'm working on a horrible quality game it takes a lot of time, but It's been over a month so I don't see the point of a contest if it can't be attended to.

Hope I didn't sound like a jerk. :P

This contest officially unofficially is stillborn. Prizes are, as far as I'm aware, never going to be handed out based on the relatively low number and quality of submissions.

Yeah, developing Cortex takes a lot out of me, sorry about that man.
Nah I'm kidding. Data didn't really have anything to do with this contest (except on the matter of the prize), I was waiting for Weasel to show up and tell me who to send the mods to. It, uh, never happened, so there was nothing for me to do but leave it going here, to die peaceably (mostly).
