Re: CONTENT TWEAK THREAD
The spread of particles is determined by a variable attached to the grenade or emitter, but some particles will just bounce off terrain, you have to make them deadlier, give more mass, more sharpness, whatever, for them to penetrate terrain.
The maximum spread for a particle is 3.14, representing pie. That is in all directions, 360 degrees.

Re: CONTENT TWEAK THREAD
This applies to all weapons, sniper rifles and pistols at close range in particular: Normally, when you get shot in the head, from the back, up through the cranium, that means instant death, and in CC, no weapons except the Coalition heavy sniper rifle gibs the head even close to the way it should. This is a bit in the engine itself, but I think there should be an option in the programming to set head gib levels, and overall make it easier to kill with headshots, especially at close range. Specifically the pistols.

Re: CONTENT TWEAK THREAD
I think than cc's engine multiples damage on head by 4 or 2, there was some topic about this long ago, but yes, it is pretty weird that you can survive whit a bullet in your head on cc.

Re: CONTENT TWEAK THREAD
8-bit your suggestion 1. is not the focus of this thread and 2. hinges on custom wounding to make truly reliable, which is something we've been promised for literally years and have yet to see happen.

Re: CONTENT TWEAK THREAD
Hey hey, I know I'm late to the party, but wouldn't insta kill headshots for everything be kind of crummy gameplay-wise?
It's really easy to get headshots in this game, so wouldn't all headshots instakill make everything that's not a spray and pray type gun completely useless?

Re: CONTENT TWEAK THREAD
If you wanted to be REAL realistic, you would have all wounds set to 50-ish damage (headshots close to 90) with decent rates of bleed, and GibWoundLimits somewhat high, like 20-ish. You'd have lots more bodies and lots less body parts flying around.

Re: CONTENT TWEAK THREAD
I think the canon allows for some kind of more rapid clotting/less damaging wounds. If you go crazy enough, you could say that clones have perhaps been optimized for basic life sustaining functions, and might even have duplicates of essential organs.

Re: CONTENT TWEAK THREAD
when i was talking about spread being related to the scene/terrain and not the emitter/bomb/round etc (lets say bullet, like a frag round in this instance) i meant that the emmisions spread over some angle set either side of the +ve x axis of the scene or terrain, eg if you set the emmisions for 15 degrees but set inheritvelocity = 0 then the emissions from the bullet or bomb will always go in the same direction if you shot the bullet right the emissions would go right and if you shot the bullet left they would go right, the same would happen if you shot it diagonaly. if the spread was related to the bullet then i think it would be much easier to direct where emissions went, and easier to concentrate the force of an explosion at the target.

Re: CONTENT TWEAK THREAD
This is not for engine tweaks, but for content tweak, like if you think the pistols need s a boost or you think that the grenades should be nerfed (not that they should be)

Re: CONTENT TWEAK THREAD
I think grenades should have far less effect-particles and more damage particles. Right now, they do a terrible job at doing damage and lag CC if a few of them blow up at the same time.

Re: CONTENT TWEAK THREAD
I think bombs and grenades should be much more effective. Dropping a Standard Bomb on someones head only removes the helmet and does no other damage. I just don't like that. And grenades. Throwing a frag grenade in front of the enemy barely damages him.

Re: CONTENT TWEAK THREAD
I think the Dummy sniper could do with a bit of a boost, it's a tad like using a fudge air rifle. And maybe the blaster should be a little nerfed... but maybe i just need to get better at not getting pwnd.

Re: CONTENT TWEAK THREAD
I like the blaster the way it is. Maybe because i love dummies, but anyway.
Hey, it's a ♥♥♥♥ energy blaster! How powerful IS that? Can't say, 'cause we don't yet have one IRL.

Re: CONTENT TWEAK THREAD
Since some of these last posts have been talking about realism, how about we have some semblance of weights and measures standardization.
Ounces of gold being improperly valued in terms of real-world weapons purchasable. Weapons have grossly unrealistic masses. Individual bullets of said default weapons are grossly disproportionate.
The physics system data uses is completely arbitrary and matches no current system of standardization. Everything is just "plug ♥♥♥♥ in and guess."
Would be nice if Data bothered taking the time to do math so that his "simulations" were "mathematically accurate."
I guess it's a good thing he worked for NASA. Wouldn't want him to be a bad engineer or anything. Because that might make ♥♥♥♥ explo--wait.
