Rhythm Heaven, is well, a rhythm game. Wonderful music, stylistic graphics, and fun gameplay.

Quote:
Rhythm Heaven has the player tap, flick, and hold the stylus on the touch screen to make a beat to match the background music for the level. The Nintendo DS is held on its side like a book with the top screen on the left and the touch screen on the right (vice versa in left-handed mode).
There are 3 control types:
Tap
Flick
Release
When trying to make a beat, the result can be correct, half-miss, or miss.
In addition, the minigame Rockers 2 uses the L or R button (depending on the hand) to bend the notes. The same buttons are used in the unlockable guitar lessons (technical course only). It is the only button used that affects the gameplay. The only button used in all games is the START button, that when pressed pauses the game.

You can try the demo on the Nintendo channel if you happen to have a Wii.

Anyhow, probably one of the best games ever.
The graphics are pixelated and minimalistic, but still brilliant.
The music, oh the music. Probably the best I've heard in a long time.
Every minigame is unique, and more than often hilarious. (See: Munchy monks.)

That's one of those games I always glaze over without consideration... I'm terrible in that I always judge by title/cover. But I must say, after watching some YouTube footage, it looks pretty entertaining...

very good game, but I find the singing moai 2, ping pong 2 a couple of others impossible to get an excellent mark on, but have completed all the games, just need to unlock the last couple of guitar lessons.

Oh looks- well honestly it doesn't look very good, but there are plenty of games which don't like good and are.

It looks kinda simplistic to me, is this not the case?

Cortex looks simplistic, alot of people look over it, judge it bad by its graphics and never looks at it again. sad.
Ahwell, i judge by content so i don't miss much.

The graphics, by the way, look fine!
It's stylistic.

If the graphics make you scream in horror you can go back to your precious uncanny valley. :-P

PS: for almost all of the games you can close your eyes and play the game purely by sound, if you like. It will be slightly harder, but it's doable.

But maybe I'll give it a shot if I can find it for cheap. I love rhythm games, one of my favourite is Elite Beat Agents and this summer I blew like $200+ on Rock Band 2, Rock Band Beatles and all the goddamn instruments.

Speaking of EBA there are two Japanese versions of it called ouendan that are totally kick-ass.

When did I say it was hard?
I think it's just right, and as I said, the music is brilliant. That's something you can't judge by the cover.

It would be nice if you had included a bit more information and perhaps some links?
