Post GLOWS (or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Gimp)
Finally my code works.
Now my glows do not.
I have accidentally generated the same effect that the "ComingOfGod" mod did!
In all on my previous experiments, having similar glows on top of each other simply multiplied their brightnesses up, until they become while boxes.

THIS glow becomes...
THIS in-game.

What causes this, how can it be fixed, etc.
If this thing works, we get to use animated glows.

Maybe try taking it out of the palette it's in? I think glows like to be 24bit.

You made either its start or end strength or whatever less than zero. Make it greater that 0.

This is why I love you people.
Now off to convert roughly 200 frames to 24 bit.

<3 you too for providing concise, useful information about your problem (as well as the file in question). The process of helping you out becomes quite fluid.

...
My copy of photoshop crashes every time I try to save with advanced BMP options.
Stupid ancient software (using 4.0, was not even made for Intel!).

Can anybody recommend a bit 'o software that can (optimally) batch process this sort of thing?
I'm breaking down and learning *nix terminal commands here.

All of the frames are CopyOf this:

EffectStartTime = 0
EffectStopTime = 50
EffectStartStrength = 1
EffectStopStrength = 1
EffectAlwaysShows = 1

Although it's not the problem you're having, glow strengths above 1 also have weird effects, case in point, black glows.

Then your black isn't black? I dunno what else the problem would be.
And I'm pretty sure glows don't have a pallet. I never go by one.

Is the palate different from the normal CC palate, or is this simply regulated by being 24-bit BMPs?
