As far as I know, that is a pretty good product, though it has a tendency to leak when not completely upwards, so take care.
But now, whaddya need that for?

Err, it fits into 5.25" bays, I think it won't be leaking. I'm getting a Q9400 from Christmas and it can be overclocked at stable at 3.5Ghz. Air cooling isn't near good enough. 10.64Ghz vs 14Ghz is kinda a big difference. I'd also be throwing in a second radiator and northbridge block. I would be getting a VGA block once Newegg has a certain one in stock, my GPU holds up pretty well on air with its two fans.

Mmm, okay. But I have the feeling that the money you'd spend on that cooler would be put to better use if you spent it on a faster processor without overclock.

It's a quad at 2.66, factory clock is already twice as good as what I have now.

Tell me, good sire, what are you trying to achieve with this 'overclocking' fetish of yours? I mean, it's not like you're building a machine that can divide by zero or something, so why go through all that hassle?
A non-overclocked Quad should deal with pretty much everything an average user needs. Unless you're rendering 3D at full HD or something.

GTA IV on high detail.
That, and less lag in CC.

That, and less lag in CC. Oh come on. I have a Q8200, a GTX260 and 4GB RAM which produce silky smooth FPS (Until there are around 50 cars being blown up simultaneously (Which is very unlikely in GTA IV)).

Re: BigWater 760i - Need opinions
My two cents: Don't get liquid cooling; save the money, and get a nice heatsink. Liquid cooling systems are a hassle, and prebuilt kits are usually very finicky. If you ever do get liquid cooling, build your own system. You shouldn't need liquid cooling for a mild overclock (3.5Ghz) anyway. I myself have an i5 overclocked to 3.61Ghz on an aftermarket heatsink. I recommend: ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 (this is what I am currently using). Or... Noctua NH-U12P SE2 (if you can afford to spend a little more). I've also heard good things about the Prolimatech Megahalems

Which means you need a better graphics card, not SUPER DOOPER I'M A ♥♥♥♥♥♥ overclocking
jesus christ whitty
GTAIV (shitty though all gta pc ports are) is not a drastically CPU intensive game, and you have a relatively ineffective video card
PS oh my god do you seriously think that a quad core rated at 3 ghz = a single core running at 12ghz
oh my god

Re: BigWater 760i - Need opinions
Whitty, you dissapoint me. Having four cores at 3.5 ghz does NOT mean you will get 14 ghz of power out of your CPU. The fastest it can go is still 3.5 ghz. Having it quad core means certain tasks can be divided amongst the four cores. However, that usually means one of your cores will be processing physics, while another is dealing with acessing RAM. Its not quite as neat and separated out as that, but you get the gist. I could use a single core at 4.0 ghz and get better performance than you are.

Grif wrote: Which means you need a better graphics card, not SUPER DOOPER I'M A ♥♥♥♥♥♥ overclocking Seriously whitty, it doesn't take a brain surgeon. There aren't many 3D retail games that are more CPU intensive than GPU. If you're lagging, chances are it's the GPU. This should not be a hard concept. Grif wrote: oh my god do you seriously think that a quad core rated at 3 ghz = a single core running at 12ghz Heheh. Funny. If only. But no, CPU's don't work like that. At all. In the least. whitty wrote: wat.
