I can't speak for myself. The cards would shrug off a direct hit from a tactical nuke, and that's just from their own internal power. So they're really in no danger of destruction, just in danger of being lost. It isn't very easy to retrieve a playing card from the Earth's mantle after all.

He can have an overall plotline, but no more than that really.
