   |   Mixed Media Disc ErrorHey there.
I bought Dragon Age: Origins today and, upon putting it in my 360's drive, displayed 'Mixed Media Disc', no option to start the game, and only the control to eject the drive. After a wipe down it still gave me this message. After some investigation I discovered that this is the code sometimes given when using illegally copied discs. Since I bought this, sealed, and from a brick-and-mortar retailer I think I'm safe from it being a copy.

Please help, I really want to smoosh things with a giant sword.

   |   Re: Mixed Media Disc ErrorDoes Gamespot have the same thing as EB, where you can return no questions asked within 7 days? They're like the same company or something, right? If so, get new copy, if not, then complain.

   |   Re: Mixed Media Disc ErrorSolid plans all. Will return and exchange for new copy/throw a hissy-fit of such magnitude that it shatters the Earth's crust.
But before lock please, has anyone ever had this problem before? Ever heard of it? 'Tis mighty strange.

   |   Re: Mixed Media Disc ErrorAlso, when I was working retail I purposefully made sure people didn't get what they wanted if they threw hissy fits.
Behave nicely and be honest to the person at the counter. if they refuse to help, then throw a hissy fit. Your chances of success will go way up.

   |   Re: Mixed Media Disc ErrorI think he wants to know how long he has left. So what he would have meant, assuming this, would have been the length of time between the 'Mixed Media Disk' phase and the death phase.

   |   Re: Mixed Media Disc ErrorAlright, it's only this disc, which would indicate corruption or just a bad disc.
Also weasel, hyperbole. I worked in a book store and you would be surprised how...uppity some people get when you tell them that you're out of Eragon.

If someone came to me with a dead XBox the day after purchase, and threw a hissy fit and yelled at me for no reason, I would tell them to go home and phone microsoft. If they were nice and treated me like a fellow human being, I'd give them an over-the-counter exchange and a gift card for their trouble. And you can bet my manager backed me up if it came to that (and it often did). As much as "bitching really loud" seems like a way to get what you want, in most situations it has the opposite effect. Because this planet is filled with vendictive bastards like me.

   |   Re: Mixed Media Disc ErrorAmen. But unlike yours, my manager was all about treating the customers as human piggy banks. I got a shouting when I paid for a four, count it four dollar book for a crying baby when the mother didn't have the change and our minimum credit card amount was ten dollars.
