Metal Gear Solid. Which is where I assumed you got that idea from.

Re: Seperating the BRAIN from the Body
It wasn't exactly an original idea when MGS used it, assuming they used it.

They did, with Raiden or whatever-his-name-is. Anyways, yeah, I forgot about the Borg, but they overwrote the personalities of their prisoners, so it didn't really matter.

Re: Seperating the BRAIN from the Body
If you replace each organ one by one, you'd be fine (until you get to the nervous system: then things get tough.)

Re: Seperating the BRAIN from the Body
exactly, and it is also possible to fuse nerves to electronic...doodads, as science has proven recently.
So eventually, you'd be a robot with spinal cord and brain the only organic parts left.

Re: Seperating the BRAIN from the Body
Ah ha but you all forgot the most important part. Your energy levels are bound to your body... You get rid of your energy you die. The brain can't actualy be seen apart from the body because your energy is anchored to your body as a whole exept legs and arms you can loose those. Get rid of your torso or your head and your energy is seperated from your body and niether can survive without one another. If you say energy doesn't exist go ask your nearest physics teacher.-not that anyone actualy would say energy doesn't exist because thats like saying the earth doesn't have a core.

That's not nearly how energy works in any way. What level of education do you have?

Re: Seperating the BRAIN from the Body
Your brain is what makes you you. Your torso houses your vital organs, which helps you survive and not die. If your brain got energy from something else than your organs, then you would probably still survive if you were to be encased in a shell that prevents you from getting deadly infections.

Re: Seperating the BRAIN from the Body
Actually, you'd survive full stop, provided you got necessary resources. These are: glucose and oxygen, predominantly. GloveDude wrote: If you say energy doesn't exist go ask your nearest physics teacher. I am not saying energy doesn't exist. I am saying your description of it would make any physics teacher you asked either laugh or cry, depending on their dispositions.

Re: Seperating the BRAIN from the Body
prosthetics will probably go into bio mechanics, and the re learning wouldn't be nearly as bad i believe. maybe months because it all still works and is in prime medical condition.
