Hyperkultra wrote: Bitter pill incoming. I bet it's because of bandwidth. What is with this forum and its obsession with "bandwidth?" Do you understand how signatures work? You post links to offsite files or text. Text consumes an zero bandwidth compared to current throughputs, and I would venture to say 85-90% of all images on signatures are hotlinked. If anyone should be pissed of about bandwidth, it should be the people hosting the images. If Data really cared about bandwidth, he would remove avatars before signatures (seeing as most avatars are stored locally on the server). tl;dr: THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BANDWIDTH. ---

I did read the thread, I did read where weasel said it wasn't about bandwidth, and because noone talked more about it, I promptly forgot. What I meant was that I thought signatures hadn't been removed for a good reason. Bandwidth was the first thing that came to my mind when I posted that, so that's what I wrote.

Bandwidth came to mind to you because you don't know what you're talking about.

Yes, but that doesn't change the fact that I had already read that it wasn't bandwidth, and since noone said any more of it, I forgot. You cannot say that you are immune to the automatic categorization, storage, and replacement of memories in the human brain Thor.

Re: Signatures are going away!
Why remove signatures completely when we've always had the option to toggle them off by ourselves? You've taken a step completely backwards in the name of progress.

Because the entire point of the decision is that they are off by default.
Why complain so much if you're just going to be able to reenable them?

Re: Signatures are going away!
I really wonder if anyone else checks usergroups But yeah I guess that's understandable about what he's doing, but other things he's done like unstickying several topics because he "doesn't like too many stickied topics" are things that worry me.
