If you know it'll never happen, then avoid the flamebait, and pretend the internet never existed.

There you go. Metagame rumblings and all, we can't use that specific phrasing anymore.

Re: Things about factions.
Well, that would still lead to conflicts between the players fighting over the territories captured in the meta-game, unless it would be co-op without any form of attack on the other player's turf.

Re: Things about factions.
I think the way it's supposed to work is that each turn a player can invade a territory which is defended by the AI. Even if two players invade the same territory, they would still just hit AI players using the other player's deployed resources.

That would lead to a hell of a lot of nerdrages over matches lost by the retarded AI.

Re: Things about factions.
We're just better off sticking with a simple online scoreboard, but that would need a server no? I'm sensing the whole online element to be a pain.
I'm getting the sort of feeling that the current factions are the warring factions, with more defined political/physical borders. So I'll assume these are harder to get favors from. I wonder who is the "head" of the game's story creation? It'll be great if the current and future official factions were elaborated upon, though I wish to avoid a black/white morality thing. For me, it's only then when I can the possible "other" factions headed by the aliens we see in the intro, since for one, we pretty much only have "human" based factions.
I'm wishing CC to be more like a roguelike in main game mode, based on a single main story line, with hundreds of side missions. Would be awesome if Prom did a close up map screen of the planet's major regions, imagine that, different places of a region the many factions can occupy, and it'll bring more scale to the world. With that idea in mind, have the Tradestar station have its own sort of combat front, surrounded by the many stations/ships of different companies. I.E. Quell a rogue robot uprising from a recent shipment on this sector of tradestar, or Hunt and kill space pirates on this company's space station...

GUILDS ARE POSSIBLE WITHOUT ONLINE PLAY, just don't expect them to help you. And we need to simulate, or falsely simulated guilds. ( COUGHDFCOUGH )

Re: Things about factions.
You seem to have forgotten that some of the greatest games out there are turn based! If your a little kid, its pokemon, when your a bit older its Final fantasy, and after that theres civilization, not to mention Worms!/end rant
Also, yeah it would go pretty kooky online, but factions are a cool Idea, It would be nice if for example, you would stick with one till the end, and lets say your playing as the dummies, and you abduct some Ronin actors/guns during a battle, and then you can use those ones

There you go, oh and you could only use the taken weapons during the mission that you use them on, and for it'd really be a ♥♥♥♥ to have assimilated their most ultimate weapon, and troops.

Like the control chip in Zombie Cave could give you the ability to use zombies, stuff like that. It could work for things outside your faction, too.

Re: Things about factions.
Um tactics would be lame for CC, i liked things like final fantasy and Fire emblem. But cc, with ragdoll physics with turn based would be complete wierd, and prob not fun. Also yeah benpasako's ideas would be good.
