   |   Re: Minecraft Up and RunningAs for the first one, someone flooded areas on weasel's island and around your little house. I just slabbed some sponges on there.

   |   Re: Minecraft Up and RunningWe'll have to go on a sponge-removing project next. I also slapped some sponges on the house when the island got flooded... for the third time.

   |   Re: Minecraft Up and RunningAm I missing something with this game? I don't understand the point of playing this when Sauerbraten exists.

Because Sauerbraten can not be an fps if you don't want it to be, and is by far a much more extensive and generally objectively superior "sandbox collaborative building game". Duh102 wrote: It is also a lot easier to just pick up and play. There are so many controls to master in saurbaten Not thaaat many. To build everything that I've seen in this game all you need to do is click and scroll in Sauerbraten. Oh, and one hotkey for textures, fine. I just don't see the point.

   |   Re: Minecraft Up and RunningIts easier to build things simply because everything is simple. You have to place less cubes to build.
Some people don't feel like downloading a program to play a game. (Otherwise nobody would play stupid games like runescape.)
Also, I personally like the simple graphics.

I could be playing LBP, which is much more intricate, etc, but I don't feel like it.

   |   Re: Minecraft Up and RunningRawtoast wrote: I just don't see the point. Yeah, SBT is a much, much more powerful engine, and to make the most of it takes a lot of skill. Just going from the shipped levels to the stuff you can (or cannot for that matter) create on your own from a flatgrass is somewhat depressing. You are correct, you can do anything in SBT that you can do in Minecraft, but Minecraft has a more streamlined place/erase mentality where SBT is extrude/texture/recalculate light/fiddle with light settings/tweak extrusion thing going on. It's a big step up, and I admit when mastered would be a lot more fun, but again, it's easier to just pick up and play Minecraft, which is what most people want.
