Re: D&D and such
Well from what I've heard they are switching to Dark Heresy but nothing seems to happen that way either.

Re: D&D and such
School decided to be really time consuming this semester. My free time is all on homework and administration.

Speaking of Eclipse Phase not happening for a while, Manticore, you still thinking of running a game?

Re: D&D and such
I'm considering running a Borderlands-esque game of EP, or my D&D:XCOM game.

I've been trying to get in on a game for years. I'll try to be in too.

Re: D&D and such
D&D:XCOM as in playing D&D where the party runs an XCOM-like operation that deals with outsiders/fae/other races.

Re: D&D and such
I'm going to be running a game of DnD 4e, PM me or post here with a simple 'I'd like to play.' if you're interested, and don't worry if you don't have any books to play, or aren't entirely sure how to play, that wont be a problem; I will be willing to both assist in character creation and to teach people how to play the game.
Long story short:
What are we playing: D&D 4e: Keep on the Shadowfell
When are we playing: So far, Saturday, 8-10 PM PST seems to be the most suitable timeslot, but other accommodations can be arranged.
Number of players I am looking for: About four - six max should do it.
GM is me. This is my first time taking on D&D 4e.
Long story long:
How often and when will we play?
We will probably have games once, and maybe on occasion twice a week, possible days of the week are Saturday, Sunday, and Wednesday.
If you cannot make these dates weekly, they are flexible, and if you absolutely cannot participate in a session then you will be quietly NPC'd in the background, and will be given a recap and log of the previous session. Rare exceptions may apply and sessions may be canceled.
Possible times will probably be around 6:00 - 11:00 PM (PST), sessions will probably range from one to two hours.
How many players are needed and what campaign are we playing?
We will be playing Keep on the Shadowfell, the only campaign I have right now, but might continue on to other campaigns if all goes well.
We need 4 players minimum, and 6 as a maximum. The ideal is 5 players. I do not think we will have problems with overcrowding though, so the more the merrier! All requests are appreciated, especially if you think you can make the time and dates. We probably will not start until around December, or near the end of November.
How are we playing?
Now this is an interesting question. Th simplest option is to play over IRC, but some people may not want to use the IRC. I am open to recommendations but, so far I have the following options: [*] IRC [*] TinyChat [*] Minecraft
Details: [*] IRC. The simplest option. I can have everyone roll for me when they can, like for initiative. Not very fancy but it could work. Sending out logs to players who missed sessions would be easy. I would have to describe the area, using battle mats would be hard. Dicebots could be added to make it so everybody could roll.
[*] Tinychat seems like a very possible option, mainly a chatroom but it also has desktop sharing so rolls can be done on my side with everyone watching - just so everyone knows I'm not cheating. I could even describe rooms in person in voice chat. Or I could even actually speak for NPCs! It could also be recorded to give the full picture to someone who misses a session. One problem is that players would not be able to roll; I would have to do all the rolling. This would slow things down a lot because I would need help to know everyone's diferent bonuses, etc. Seems to be a nice option, definitely preferable to IRC, but the problems are rather large.
[*] Minecraft. We would have out own server hosted by Duh102. We would have dice rolling cMss included for rolling, and the game could be used as a rather nice 3D battle mat. No logs can be made, as far as I know.
Best thing so far seems to be Minecraft, for dice rolling and a 3D battle mat. Possibly in conjunction with Tinychat. If anyone does not like the use of Minecraft I have a backup plan that will allow battle mats.
The bad stuff:
This is my first time DMing a session, but I hear I'm a very good story teller. I'll try my best to make it fun and interesting.
There will be a couple complications about this being over text, because of the need for a battle mat in 4e. But, I can give you guys PDFs of battle mats for you to print out or use on your computer, and I can give you a picture of the area. I am sure I can also provide enough information to provide a mental picture of the situation. Otherwise, if we use Minecraft, this will not be a problem.
I am not going to be on a specifically voice chat program, like skype, unfortunately. But it shouldn't hinder the playing experience.
I am thinking of making a new thread just for this so more people know of its existence.

I have a game 4 days a week, I can't join any more or run any EP until next semester at least.
