   |   Re: 360 controllertry to uninstall, and reinstall, make sure in game you set it to the controller, and set settings accordingly. did it with my USB controller, worked like a charm.rebooting may help too, it can get touchy sometimes with installing it.

   |   Re: 360 controllerIt's wired and is picked up by other stuff. I never did restart or anything after I installed the drivers, I'll try that and post the results.
 *EDIT*
 Nope, restart does nothing.

   |   Re: 360 controllerRight click 'My Computer'Select 'Properties', at the bottom
Select the 'Hardware' tab, near the top
Select 'Device Manager', near the top
Find the controller, it might be in 'Human Interface Devices' if it is not anywhere else that is obvious
 Right click it
 Select 'Properties', at the bottom
Select the 'Driver' tab, near the top
Select 'Update Driver', near the middle
Select 'No, not this time' in response to it asking to check windows update
Select 'Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)'
Select the path of the new downloaded drivers
 Continue, following instructions

What is the problem that occurs?

   |   Re: 360 controller...Yall are making me out to look like a retard. I have the driver installed, the controller management software, reinstalled a few times, restarted a few times, etc. Every time I press the logo button, it turns on and all that (no battery so the USB is working fine and is recognized) but it starts to do ♥♥♥♥ on my xbox.

Read the thread. He's not using an XBox EDIT: Oops, misread. Yeah, try unplugging/turning off your XBox or disconnecting it from your XBox or something.

   |   Re: 360 controllerIf it is plugged in via the Play and Charge kit, it won't work. That cord just charges the controller.
There is a wireless dongle that microsoft sells which makes wireless controllers work with windows.
