Darkstorms. Hands down, the best Faction that I know. Balanced, but still powerful. Awesome Sparkle-magic usage (Shielding and phasing). I still say it should be Vanilla.

I find them ridiculously over-powered myself. I've held off hordes of enemies with a few turrets and maybe one or two roving sentries.

One of the mods I constantly use is unitec, in terms of variety they are amazing, and they have a medium-sized colections of towers, bunkers and walls as well as a trench, I always use them in skirmishes.
One definate keep was map pack 3, it easily supplies bunker parts for all your needs, weather it's super-strong lazers or just a door.
Also, Narkaleptic made a rocket silo that allows rockets to be guided in, this was then placed in his zombie defence.
All of what Abdul Alhazred has created is worth checking out, not only has he created UAV's and a defence system but also a very usefull and well-made veichle pack(EDV)
If you want some overpowered wepons that arre fun to use, try some of the mod/lua packs, I use Shook's and Duh102's mod packs, Weegee's scenes are a must-have for difficult yet immensley replayable missions.

wheh, that took a while to type.

I like Kloveska tbh. They have a nice variety of units that are all well balanced and have good sprites. There are even artillery units.

Sorry for seemingly promoting one of my own mods, but Ivan's spriting and Shook's weapon effects shouldn't go unnoticed.

Invincible Actor
I use this quote a lot if I just want to have a mess around with mods I just downloaded.
Combine with the Pheonix Potion for maximum undyingability.

No one suggested Grif's plane, Abdhul Azard's Dummy Vehicles, or LFOW's zeppelin. Those mods are awesome and change the experience of playing.

Grif's plane, it is a side scrolling plane in which you can dive, and fly aroud like a real plane.
[Up] makes you tilt up.
[Down] makes you tilt down.
[Foward] Speeds you up.
[Backwards] slows you down.
You can do loops, and barrel rolls.
And you can effectively fly through tunnels, and launch your bombs at the right angle ( to say, through a fortification ) , or line up the perfect shot for your MG, eat the that soon to be mistified squads!

Dummy Vehicles, you get a three wheeled buggy, and two armed dropships.
The vehicle rolls through the field like a car, and you can shoot your NG, and plasma rifle at the same time!
The Armed dropship is a dropship with two turrets, good for dropping both troops and heat.
The Gunship, a dropship that has been decked out with so many weapons that it can't drop troops, it has a tripke grenade launcher, and two heavy lasers.
This comes with two missions, Assault, and Overrun!
Assault, you are the dummies, and they have AA turrets, and Anti Infantry Lasers, use the jeep to plow through there lines to destroy the AA turrets, and the anti infantry laser so you can send in the troops to destroy the brain!
Overrun, you are a ronin outpost, protect the AA turrets, and the brains ( the top one controls the troops, the bottom one is a decoy ) .

The zeppelin, it is a zeppelin, it is perfect for carpet bombing, for it drops multiple entities at a time, very quickly.

*Ahem*Unmanned Aerial Vehicles is partially edited from Grif's plane by the way.
So yeah, unless I suddenly changed my name to No-one, then I believe you are mistaken. And besides, that name's pretty much already taken.

I second this, due to the fact that u can have a machine gun shoot for 2 minutes straight, and has no problem fending off cyborg zombies, the enemies, or craft. And to keep if form getting crushed you could use point defence, so your pretty much invincible. And for others coil gun is overpowered, cyro gun is seemingly over - epic.
Also Rapid Grenade gun? (shoots grendades like a minigun.) Kinds overpowered :/
The Drone that flies can take down multiple enemies, simply by being out of enemy sight range.
And All the turrets = win

(no offence, awesome mod, hands down, however not fit for vanilla content)

Just make Darkstorms very high end. I'm talking a medium load would run ~1000oz. And Darlos has said that phasing is going to be changed to invisiblity as soon as Lua allows it.

Darkstorm units aren't that bad - just nick a shogun weapon with a pistol bullet and it breaks in half. And they can't rearm themselves, leaving them to chase you down with their fist.
