Not really, the glass is probably stronger than plexiglass. And the "liquid" is obviously pressurized, so when you have sufficient damage to whatever type of glass, it explodes due to Explosive decompression.

The brain juices in the case requires sunlight (Including ultraviolet, infrared, and various trace amounts of radiation) FROM THE SUN NOT AN ARTIFICIAL LAMP in order to not coagulate. The brain cases inside bunkers have suffiecient systems to cycle the gell through a anticouagulation system that is too bulky for a brainbot.

Yeah about 13 years ago a guy got 60x60 black and white heavily distorted pixel vision, after he had gone blind. It wasn't much, but it was enough to drive a car (not legally).

It wasn't so popular because it required a metal hole place in your skull and a huge bundle of wires entering your brain. I'm sure technology has advanced by now.
