Extending the palette would likely come in the form of a larger palette size, rather than extra palettes.

It would most likely be faster than having mutliple palletes as well.

I'm with THOR.
I fail to understand why Data insists on expanding the campaing in a game where the engine is so severely limited.
Besides having only 256 colours, which aren't even the standard 256 as far as I can tell, IT STILL USES AS MUCH CPU AS A FULL THREE-DIMENSIONAL SHOOTER.

What Data needs to realise is that graphics accelerators exist for a reason. One does not have to use the CPU to do everything when 99% of his target audience spend upwards of 200 bucks on graphics cards that will do it even better.

Please Data, less content - more optimisation.

go from 8-bit to 10-bit, use graphics accelerators if they work with sprites and bitmaps. also, if it takes 5 builds worth of time to get a major graphics change, announce how many builds it will probably take, but continue to add content along the way. since data isn't the main content creator at this point, we can get both.

I doubt the palette will be enlarged.
We don't need it.
There are better features to put into Cortex Command.

Like making the graphics engine we have now less resource intensive.

Exactly Duh.

I want to be able to have 20 enemies fighting at once and no lag.

So wait, my $250+ graphics card is hardly being use or not at all for Cortex Command? No wonder CC is slow for me.

No, it isnt, but my $200 CPU is being used. No wonder CC isnt slow for me.
But seriously, optimisation would be lovely. its a shame data has basically said "no really" to optimisation this build..

Your $200 CPU is being used, but not effectively!

Data, I do not want more missions. I do not want more dummies.
I want CC to run like a 2D game should.

Data's job is to make it run like a 2D game should. Mostly. The Dummies, weapons, missions, and other such fancy content are the jobs of Prom, TLB, Capnbubs, and numgun(?)

its not a question if the game will be optimized, its when, if data wants this game to work well and be even box worthy he will definately optimize this game.
