One-shoting* a clone with a sniper rifle round to the head is fun and satisfying. Four-or-five-shoting him is rather less fun and satisfying. If a particular actor or kind of actor needs to be immune to one-shot-kills for whatever reason, just give him/her/it a good helmet. * Wait... shoting? Shotting? Is there a double 't'? Is that even a word?

Re: CONTENT TWEAK THREAD
or we could just have other wounds for head wounds and not have workarounds. i dont like how the game currently scales up headwounds, any more and i'll be extra annoyed.

The digger tools (exclude shovels) are WAY to powerful. I never use them to dig, instead I use them to destroy drop ships in 1 millisecond.

Re: CONTENT TWEAK THREAD
There needs to be a workaround making diggers still effective in digging but less effective in combat

There was definitely a time when I would agree with you that any well aimed sniper (regular, not heavy) shot to the face should be an automatic kill, but after playing a few fan-made missions which feature multiple actors on both your side and the enemy's, I feel a bit more content with Cortex Command being a largely non-one hit kill game. I think the desire to kill an enemy actor with one hit stems from the fact that in it's current state, Cortex Command's gameplay consists primarily of solo actor action, which I believe is a result of both a scarcity of vanilla compaign missions and a largely underdeveloped AI. When these two things are fixed, however, and the gameplay involves using more actors at the same time, I feel as if weaker weapons will seem more reasonable. Unfortunately, this could result in the nerfing of incredibly fun weapons like the heavy sniper rifle and the revolver cannon. If it means more complex gameplay, however, I say so be it.

I agree with 'tougher helmets, weaker heads'. Make helmets block 3 shots, or even 4 shots; but once it's off, bang, dead.
For human actors, of course.

For human actors, of course. I think you'd have to modify the quote in your signature to put more emphasis on the short if that were the case. On that note, Ronin should have helmets. I know, I know, this would further homogenize the factions, specifically by blurring the line between Ronin and Coalition soldiers, but seriously: soldiers without helmets in warfare that has FRICK'N LASERS in it is a bit silly. There's already a sprite for Ronin helmets, but it's //ed out. I don't see why, though. It looks perfectly fine to me.

Re: CONTENT TWEAK THREAD
It's too similar *cough*samesprite*cough to the coalition helmet.
And the ronins doesn't have lasers do they? It's just the base and dummies who has lasers for now.
btw ronins are also supposed to be a rag-tag faction.

Ronins with helmets look like motocross rejects or kids with safety helmets on.

Re: CONTENT TWEAK THREAD
Honestly, issues like that are so goddamn subjective. Don't expect Data or Arne to change their design philosophy because you say so.
You might not like it , but said duo wouldn't have released them as official content if they weren't happy with the visuals.
I don't think its going to do anyone any good to complain about actual sprite or art. It is what it is, a product of Arne. A product not likely to change.
I think it behooves this thread to keep the topic geared more towards functionality and implementation and less towards art. There are very few of us who's artistic abilities can rival Arne's, so lets focus on something worth changing, not something completely superficial.

If said duo were happy with the visuals, why were they commented out? Or was that the handiwork of a third party? Personally I think the Ronin helmets look pretty mediocre. What's more, they make it difficult to distinguish between the different Ronin characters.
