I could be doing the steam crab, not firm though. How big would it be?

EDIT: Sorry for double post

One steam-powered crab comin' up.

May not be exactly what you want, gtaiiilc, but this is what I see most fitting for a mobile steam boiler. In my impression, long spidery legs usually fail in CC, so I shortened them, despite the fact that I want to make it taller.

I accept redoing art if requested.

areku, how would you feel about bearstronauts?

I'll do a sheet of cool astronauts for you probably later on today. I normally do a big series of small sketches going in all directions that you can cherry-pick from.

Heh. That is an... interesting concept. :P

And don't worry, I'm not in a rush. Thanks for your effort. :)

Oh god, please do.

I love Brad Neely.

And yes, he was the first one to mention bearstronauts.

The Battlefield Boiler is made up from outdated factory boilers mounted onto the hull of Herbert's failed mobile artillery platform

I think Herbert will now be working on V2 of the mobile artillery platform or "Snipder" (ya I know lame name)

thank both of you for the art but if anyone else wants to draw there ideas for the boiler (or any steampunk units  ) go for it I want Ragnar's army to BE a army with a lot of units each with its own use and fun factor!

A simple suit, I was thinking it would be more functional. Not very intricate.
Would come with an short-barreled automatic shotgun of sorts.
It would use the code that allows you to enter and control it with another actor, and possibly have a version where a robot is automatically inserted inside but it more expensive.

But it can be used any way anyone likes.

Hey folks, some of you may remember my Cordyc Amalgam faction (viewtopic.php?f=1&t=16505) mod, I plan to revive it after I've learned better sparkle magic... so for you concept artists out there, here's a challenge of sorts: draw the following actors. (yes I said draw, I'll sprite them myself, actually)

Use these words to guide you: fungus, not mushroom, infection, recycled, biomatter, alien.
Now, for the actors:
-an initial infector (ACrab).
-an infested AHuman.
-an infested ACrab.
-a stationary turret.
-a kamikaze version of the infested AHuman.

well, I think that's it... but if you want to pitch your own idea, go ahead! I give you a free rein on the matter.

Hrm, my rendition of the fungus, parasite things <turret + basic infector>. The turret fires semi-homing infector/acid bombs. As for the basic infector, it emits a spore cloud that instantly converts any AHuman regardless of health, though once that spore cloud is released, the basic infector slowly dies.

Image
Idea for a level two infected type, organic AHumans are converted into this type if hit by a basic infector, or as a level one infected type <Doesn't look infected at all> that has survived long enough. Level two infected can transform into a stationary turret, or a kamikaze infected.

Might update this post as I come up with more ideas.

thats the idea of this thread, not sprites but concepts.

DSMK2, awesome idea for the basic infestor, i like units that are inherently expendable :P

I'll throw in some of my ideas too. The colors are not firm, they only make different parts more apparent. White hypha entangle the target and convert all of it into gray/brown fungus parts.
Image

Infector: Source of infection, semi-airborne, nurtures parasitic spores on its back.

Parasite: Spores, launches itself towards enemy units from the infector.

Needler: Infected AHuman, hand/weapon converted into needle projectile weapon.

Spitter: Turret, attack from unknown.

Walking Spitter: Infected ACrab/evolved spitter.

Burster: Enlarged head and arms carrying explosive chemicals, the only safe way to engage it is to aim for the neck or legs.

?: Possibly an infected disembodied head.

??: Possibly a mine, laid by infector/burster.

???: I really have no idea what this is.
