It takes quite a bit to impress me anywhere near that amount, something may be awesome (ala this mod) but sence i don't really have the full game there is not much i can do with it anyway, still awesome though.


just wondering though, how many layers of armor are you planning on adding to the mechs? and are you going to add a little pilot in the pit, which would pose as a weak point for the mech?

what im saying is, if you make the pit of the mechs a weak point, have it break away easily with high power small arms (ie ak-47 round) to expose the pilot inside, which would take a couple more shots to kill the mech :P. hopefully for most it wont be that simple to do but still

i would like to see armor plates break away to reveal the muscle/hydrolic/servo systems inside the mech however.

Sadly, that would only work on the body and head of the mech. Legs and arms don't do armor plates that well.

Also, I'm seriously considering slashing all the fancy Lua I promised. I can't make heads nor tails of it. That said, sprite donations for mechs are welcome and appreciated.

Actually, from experience I can say that plates on the legs work fairly well, especially with mechs who shouldn't be able to crouch/crawl. But Duh is right about the arm attachables. Those things rotate along with the head, so they'd look... weird.
We weren't planning on adding pilots inside, since the mechs are too small, but making the viewscreens vital to the warmachine's survival instead.
Also, what mech would you like more specifically to be OP-ed?

like TT anihilator have, any way, YAY! pilots with ejecting chairs!! :grin:

Consider to make a poll with pictures about what preferences have the people :wink:

I like the scale suggested on page 7, it looks appropriate.

Please please please use original sound effects. It adds so much to a mod.

Also, well-shaded gibs that aren't just bits of the original sprite which you chopped up. That fudge looks like ♥♥♥♥, guys.

EDIT: @Rawtoast: I've been able to extract sounds from Mech Commander 2, but unfortunately they reuse a lot of sounds from effect to effect, so I only have a library of about 20 different sounds. I'll have to see if I can grab something from my copy of MW3 and expansion, or if there's a pack of them hanging around somewhere. Never fear though, I fully intend to use sounds from one of the MW games.

No really, it's a legit screen. I'll have to break up the thing though, the MOPixel/Actor collisionbox only extends part of the way through the thing as you can see by the wounds stuck in the middle of the thing.

Coincidentally, does anyone know if you can have dropship doors slide instead of rotate?

You can make it rotate so it seems like it's sliding by fiddling with the door offsets in some way I can't recall.

Thanks to piipu, I now have a mech worthy of being titled a fan conversion of Mechwarrior to Cortex. Unfortunately, the weapons I mounted on it are acting funny, so I have to play with it some more. Once I get that ironed out though, consider a download posted.
