i want total annihilation in cortex command, i would be willing to help.(with spriting mostly)
a few starting ideas a builder which would fire a "unit start" at the ground and then fire lua particles at it, when enough particles hit it it would become the unit.
some different kbots peewee, AK some artillary bots maybe missle bots
and of course
commanders, brain units with d guns and a wonderful death explosion included

This stuff is easy but anything that displaces a lot of terrain will lag like hell... but a cool idea I kinda want some more big guns I might help but I've gotta ton of crap on my plate as of right now

Would it be any more laggy than a concrete sprayer? The particles wouldn't even have to be persistent.
I could see building metal extractors to generate gold. Laser and missile towers, of course. Dragon's teeth would be a snap. Can units spawn gold when they die (to represent metal salvage?) -- TAZ

Or existent. You could just make it an animation, one single MOSParticle.
