Post Re: Censorship of baby mod - depriving the fans?
I liked it more for the fact they were blood-filled, and fragile. Like bloody zombies.
Not because they were babies. Mostly.
I can only image how fun it would have been combined with the gore-clone abilities...

Downloading mods is entirely up to the user. If you don't like it, don't download it.
Although, certain things should be removed, like say a scene with KKK vs Black people.
Maybe add a tag, like the B23/Pre-B23 ones, for questionable content?

On another note, try combining the Baby with the Psycic abilities in Lua Tech.

Rawtoast that was the most creative mod Ive seen in a long time Ive been downloading mods for many years now, many have been deleted and used but your mod was just brilliant. I think people should bring back fun mods, not just lame old guys that shoot weapons. Why not bring back that old Ronald McDonald mod that was cool, and the rabbits that look like there candy and when you shoot they were really gory. Why not put some humor in mods these days. Even the Nacho mod was creative. Why don't modders make stuff like that anymore. No one has any sense of humor anymore. I even remember a mod that you throw a llama as a grenade, now that's creativity. And if the moderators don't realize the creativity, we should. We should stick up for people that have creativity. It doesn't really matter what code, or how good the sprites look, or even who made the mod. It just matters the effort and the concept of the mod, Rawtoast is one of the people that doesn't care what people think and made a great mod no one should have anything against it, it is funny no Hilarious, get a sense of humor guys. This is stupid that a moderator or admin would delete this mod, it was great. So to everyone I don't care who you are or what mods you've made but please have a sense of humor. Rawtoast please continue to make this mod and don't care what anyone thinks, if it gets deleted re-post it or I will. Keep making great mods Rawtoast.

It has nothing to do with stifling creativity. It's discouraging what the staff sees as tasteless content.

Although smashing babies hardly seems creative.

Cody, Public warning time. This mod has been locked. If you want it, PM the maker. If you repost it, I will ban you for two weeks. Welcome to Data Realms Fan Forums, enjoy your stay!.

It might be creativity, but that doesn't make it any less offensive. As (and it warms my heart to say this) Thor already wrote, this has nothing to do with stopping creativity and fun. It's simply about not posting mods which involve the senseless slaughter of babies.

You guys really ought to stop this prosecution of THOR

There is nothing senseless about the immense fun involved in packing 100 babies in a drop crate and scuttling it in mid air over a skirmish.

well, we could, but it would probably get locked.

Oh alright. Miles, you're such a good conversationalist.

Hah, and why would you? Is there anything left to be said after you've made a post?

I think it would be more acceptable if you made a baby faction, where babies were choosing to fight rather than just being thrown around.

Imagine it: diapers for grenades, milk-bottle guns, carriages as tanks, and storks as dropships.

Aside from that...can you PM me your baby cannon? I'd love to see it. XD

I lol'd at the way I was corrected. As long as THOR keeps n00bs away, I for one value him as DRL's immune system. Back on topic... I also agree with tons0phun: a mod in which babies actually do some killing instead of being used purely to test weapons on might be more acceptable to our overlords. The point of banning this mod was that it was used only to kill babies in horrendous ways, I think.

Yes. That is basically the point of the whole thread. If killing babies was an option instead of the whole point, it would be much more acceptable.

Look you idiots, you can get all the babies you want by PMing Rawtoast.
You don't have any rights and the admins can do whatever they want. The admins decided that they didn't want a baby topic and they aren't going to read this topic and change their minds, so there's no point whining.

I think removing the topic was a good idea.

People with taste who want to download this game and pay Data some money won't be scared of (or rather, won't have their parents who have the credit cards scared off) by an easily visible topic showing people killing babies.
Granted this isn't really a tasteful game, but people object far more to the killing of children than regular people, and if the topic was left open people who actually matter might complain to Data about it.
Almost no retail games will let you do anything to children because the ratings board would have a fit and no stores would stock it.

People who still want babies can still have the mod!
It's just hidden away because some people have standards and those people are more important.

At this point, everyone's just opining, and obviously nothing's going to get changed.

Here's my perspective:
I thought this was a well-sprited, very unique mod. I didn't find it particularly tasteless; rather, I thought it was hilarious to be able to say things like "Oh, yeah, the other day my laser-toting baby had it's leg ripped off my a momma crab". I mean honestly, how many mods are a mad-lib in and of themselves?

Nothing was ever going to get changed.
This has always been a topic full of pointless whining that the admins will completely ignore.

I have an idea.

Have a setting like the word censor setting, it allows you to see/notsee obscene topics.

Not sure if that's possible.
