Re: Censorship of baby mod - depriving the fans?
As soon as you join a private community paid for and managed by an individual, you have no rights, no freedom of speech, there is nothing fair, you're the management's ♥♥♥♥♥ and you'll like it, because that's what happens when you join a private community, all bets are goddamn off and that's the way things should be, because then at least there's some degree of predictability. Oh, by the way, I've seen this mod, used it too. 'Twas ♥♥♥♥ and too gory.

Re: Censorship of baby mod - depriving the fans?
Mmmh I can't wait to be sober enough to respond to this stuff with reason, but for now I'll just remind everyone that from the beginning of OP, I stated that it is totally legitimate for mods to irradiate mods of bad form.
I'm not posting for my rights here. This is for posterity. I don't want the baby mod to be unlocked - I already said that - I just wanted to bring up discussion. The fact of the matter is that I wanted to bring life to what I thought would be a very important element in the game. Simply put: I saw baby, I made baby. Then I made a gun that shoots baby. This is a totally rational, linear progression.

Unless I read your post wrong, you thought BABIES were a very important element in Cortex Command?

Re: Censorship of baby mod - depriving the fans?
Atleast they were fun to massacre. Kinda strange banning a mod like that though, it wasnt so special nor horrible. Not to mention there are mods with insane gore and other brutalities (psy powers lol) that easily are worse than the baby mod.

Re: Censorship of baby mod - depriving the fans?
I don't see a good reason why it got removed... It's a pixelated baby bloodbucket, so what? I wouldn't even call it a baby cause it was the size of a regular clone...
Arguing is pointless, you won't get anywhere with it... If the 'higher-ups' decided it's a no go, then let it be.

I personally don't see why anyone cares about the mod. If you find it offensive, just ignore it. Nobody is forcing you to download the mod, much less mods in general.
"The Higher ups", why do you care? Did it personally offend you?

Any sane person can read the OP and see that he was joking.
Or he wasn't and is really bad at making arguments that don't sound ridiculous.

Re: Censorship of baby mod - depriving the fans?
One of the first mods for cortex command was by a guy named owensworth. It was a baby laser.
Shredded terrain in a one hit super blast, and the sprite was of a baby (the laser came out of its mouth).
So removing this mod was pretty daft.

Rawtoast wrote: I can understand the need to lock distasteful mods. A mod which referenced the holocaust, for instance, would definitely be in bad enough taste to warrant deletion. I think you had better find a way to define bad taste. we cant make a penis gun that shoots white concrete, because it would be in such bad taste. well, we could, but it would probably get locked. so that said what makes you think killing babys is in any way in good taste?I feel bad using those two italicized phrases in one sentence, and i'm a furry. things that can not be released on these forums are either A) illegal B) restricted (such as pornography) or C) in poor taste. in poor taste is as determined by: survey says--- The opinions of one's peers. Thats right! if the people in the community disagree with an idea to which you are presenting, it is in poor taste. considering so many people on the forums where offended by your mod, and found it to be in poor taste, it was deleted. the community, I think, has spoken. Noone likes your mod. Not because it was poorly made, but because it was wrong, or against their ethics. Not bothering to read this thread beyond OP because it likely is flooded with trolls by now.

Why are people complaining about violence in CC? That's ridiculous, the whole spiel of the game is for everything to die horribly.
Obviously CC is too high-brow for dead baby jokes.

You could play with babies, now you can't play with babies. Get over it and move on, it's not worth all this fuss.
If you really want the mod you can just PM Rawtoast for it. Personally I think the mod was pretty rubbish and it would be a waste of time but obviously due to all this uproar I'm in the minority.
