Re: Introducing the Spanish Weasel
Actually, you will find that the forum has a fair amount of interest in minimizing ridiculous signatures, so feel free to cut back on idiotic ones. We actually do have some signature-related rules, but as you know (being an experienced phpBB moderator), only certain classes of staff members (e.g. Administrators) can edit those things.
As just a word of how we sometimes do things here, it seems like there has been a shift in focus away from bans and into more--unconventional means of punishment. Before taking dramatic steps, please consider speaking with our existing veteran staff to see how we handle things.
I am all about fresh ideas, but honestly I think the direction the staff has been going lately has been showing progress.

I disagree. As long as it's not outright nazi-esque hate speech, it should be taken as it is meant, as a joke. Otherwise you're going to have to deal with everything that discriminates against anyone. Banning people for calling people gentlemen, making poor taste but back to the kitchen jokes, etc etc. Plus it's ♥♥♥♥ retarded to get offended by anything that is legitimately intended as a joke.

There is obviously a reason why Data chose me over coming here himself, and if that reason is not obvious (or at least remotely guessable by you), then you could probably use a swift kick in the nuts. For those that need it spelled out: You guys produce a shitload [ed: I said "sh1t l0ad". have to learn this forum filters] of content and it's not possible for him to keep up *AND* make the game we all want to see completed. So... exactly what I said haha. Yours is a much more condensed version which is not as informative but still good. Seriously though, hop on IRC you seem like an awesome guy

But this is all hyperbole. He specifically said "racism", not "everything offensive to everyone".

My honest advice here, and I can't stress this one enough, dont listen to anyone but data, everyone has there own agenda, and data's agenda of making the forums work the way he intended is the only one that matters. Thats about all I can say, since this thread has turned into outright trolling, i'm getting the hell out of here before I start feeding the trolls. -- Note a 'hi i'm a new admin' thread should never contain any trolling, thats an all around bad idea.

Enter: Miles, stage left, dragging another wall of text riddled with flamebaiting and hypocricy. No-one is sure weather he's meant to be there or if he's just lost tech-crew. Investigations follow. Miles' mother wonders where that nice boy she raised went.

You think anyone with an opinion that differs from your own is a troll, Miles. I'd really hate to see what would happen if you were in control of a country.

Re: Introducing the Spanish Weasel
It saddens me to see that a friendly hello thread from a new admin has deteriorated to more flaming.
My tip, weasel, is to moderate with an iron fist. Don't take no ♥♥♥♥ and bring pain to flamers.

I agree with Thor 100%.
You should totally bring out your Banhammer.

You do know that as an admin you can just change that user's name to something else (If he's an inactive user, so there won't be any issues) and then set your name to the one you wish... It's not like anyone would care... Also, welcome to DRL, enjoy your stay.

You should totally bring out your Banhammer. Thor has just said that at the moment he advocates NOT using the banhammer for the moment. And I see no ban-worthy people on this forum at the moment.
