Re: Censorship of baby mod - depriving the fans?
Morality should stay in real life and serious games. CC is about fun, and as long as retarded kids who might get smartass ideas from it (who shouldn't touch games anyways), anything (should) go.

Rawtoast wrote: As you can see, babies are indeed part of the Cortex Command world. To deprive this community of my mod is to deprive it of the full game experience. That, I say, is inappropriate. Wow, stupidest argument ever. It doesn't help that I don't really support your argument at all, but saying THERE ARE BABBY IN THIS SHOPP is not a good vindication of your cause. Perhaps take up the banner of "its a free country" or something equally cliche. Let's just forget the fact that this is a privately held forum in which you are granted no explicit rights.

Re: Censorship of baby mod - depriving the fans?
To put it bluntly, the admins/mods will do whatever they want to do. If that included everyone who joined on an odd numbered date, unless said date was a Wednesday, what do you plan to do about it? We don't have any kind of right to post anything on here. There was nothing illegal about removing the mod, and it is perfectly within their rights to do so. I don't see any point in debating the decision. Mind you, this isn't an attack on everyone posting in this thread. I was just pointing out that our collective opinions don't really make a difference. EDIT: Metal Meltdown wrote: Morality should stay in real life and serious games. I hardly think this is a good reason.

No, you don't get the option to question the way the board functions. That is not how this works. This is not a fracking democracy. The board is managed by Data (who delegates that responsibility to moderators). It is his ultimate decision about enforcement and creation of policy.
Since he is an absentee landlord, it is within the purview of the administrative staff to decide what is acceptable for this board.
There will be no referendum, no call to arms or call to votes. You do what the moderators and administrators tell you because even though this is a benevolent oligarchy, but still an oligarchy and occasionally you do not like what the men sitting at the round table decide upon.
If you don't like the policy here, take your mods to another forum. God knows enough users have tried and failed to manage their own boards for game content.

We (all users) must reflect about if this fair. You seem to be missing my point. This isn't some kind of democracy where anyone's opinions actually matters. If the admin believes that the mod is too offensive, then that's their decision, and you nor I nor anyone cannot really do anything about it. EDIT: ninja'd by THOR.

What the hell man, even scribblenauts lets you shoot/bomb/cut babies, not only that, you can even summon satan who kills the filthy larvae.
And that game is PG-13!

And Cortex Command is not Scribblenauts, and I imagine that in Scribblenauts the babies are not blood buckets. No offense intended to Rawtoast of course. Just pointing out facts.

It's really like I'm posting in Germany or Australia. Well, hmm, so if rawtoast made the babies into robots that bleed oil, would that make things acceptable?

Re: Censorship of baby mod - depriving the fans?
I don't really see any good reason to prevent this from being distributed in the forum. I'm not disagreeing with Thor; we don't have any rights in the forum, since the contract is one-way. But I do think that it's kinda pointless to remove a modification just because it resembles an infant. The game already depicts what could be considered to be depraved, immoral acts by many people; how many more could possibly be offended by a pixelated baby? It's one thing if it were a developer coming in and saying 'This gives people a negative view of our product,' and removed the mod, but that isn't the stated reason.

Dr. Evil wrote: Then what if I made a mod encouraging racist violence? I hardly think this is a good reason. How do you know Rawtoast isn't African-American? You might just as well say that the whole (well, actually any) game is racist because only white people get killed. Racism is a retarded idea that will die off the instant we realize we're all human. But enough senseless ranting. This topic seems to have gone too far. *chuckles* MY EVIL PLAN IS WORKING!
