I was wondering if it would be possible to have a weapon that does damage on impact, but by swinging it.
I know it's possible to crush actors to the ground like that, but I want one that can smash people's heads without the ground.

You either need to fire a heavy object, or use Lua.

I was thinking like a club weapon, so I don't think it could fire any heavy objects, but maybe lua.

Check out the laser sword in the Mercenaries pack. It's by the same guy who did the AAL.
The faster you swing it, the more damage is done.

Really? I thought that it just increased damage depending on the velocity of the actor, not the weapon swing from changing aim angles.


A cool way to make slashing would be to make a sword fire zero velocity particles as tracer rounds at the tip of the sword, and then use Lua to check their position in contrast to the position of the more frequently fired useless regular round zero firing velocity particles, and then set the tracer's velocity to be the position difference plus the other particle's velocity. The tracer particle could be heavy and zero weight for a hammer, heavy and dull for an axe, or light and sharp for a sword.

So basically, the particles would follow the sword tip without very complex Lua by using frequently replaced marker particles from the sword tip.

But the thing is, the swordsman is going to tear himself apart, unless the operator is checked for and specifically set to not collide with the sword tip, and with a sword, you're up in the enemy's face, so the checks might get mixed up. So maybe a more complex method where you know the operator in the first place would work better.

Also, due to the nature of keyboard aiming, keyboard players would never be able to make decently fast slashes. But they did choose to have speed limitations with their input method.

Actually, that was a serparate mod, but yeah, it's most definitely a swinging weapon. Perhaps not in the sense that the Benpasko wants, but it swings and it smashes.

Rite thar. It does work for B23, i've just tested it. Feel free to alter it to your needs, but credits would be nice if you did so and released it.

Yeah, I'm editing off the ogre from dstech, I made a custom edit of the feratus-c(or however it's spelled) That can lift it, I made it weigh 400. It is hilariously dangerous, I love to use it on first contact, and use it to lift the crab when she jumps over me.

First off, that is unrelated to this topic. Second, the person who made AAL (numgun) removed all of his mods that he could from this site. You could try PMing him, but you would have a very low chance of getting it.
