I think he said something about typing too fast, then not bothering to check it over before... Anyway, the sniper is pretty... meh. To bring this post ontopic.

Lafe is far from a pretty alright programmer.
Looking at his lua is good for laughs, because anyone with even a rudimentary understanding of how anything works, from syntax to logic to COMMON SENSE would see how dumb loads of it is.

All the sprites are rather horrible. The sniper rifle's bipod looks ridiculous. It's way too big, and there was no attempt to put it into perspective. The mortar is just a mish-mash of colours from the Coalition's weapons' colour scheme. The turret is the same, just a big frankenstein with some green thrown in there. As weapons, they seem like overpowered lolcannons. I recommend you start spriting from scratch, it really isn't all that hard.

Lua is a lot different from GML, Grif. I've used it. I know. GML is basically designed to be accesable to even the half retarded. Well, maybe 1/3 retarded.

Lua is easily one of the most accessible scripting languages ever. The syntax is actually probably simpler than a lot of GML.
There's no possible reason in any language for you to have a line that quite literally tells a variable to equal itself.

There's no possible reason in any language for you to have a line that quite literally tells a variable to equal itself. i did that, so as to keep that step there, i wasent quite sure of the called events, and if removing the line would f up the logic, because it wasent working when i removed the line. Tell you what, want to make a game in gm, and ill make a game in gm, and ill make one, and well both release them in the genral part of the forums, without telling anyone BUT TLB whoes is whoes, and well see who the winners game is.

Hey bro, since this is datarealms.com, how about you make a game in Lua for CC? Then we'll see how that contest goes down. I won't even put xextredge in! I'll start from scratch, just for you.
Because if you really want to do this I am so up for it.
your move dawg

He means make an entirely different game out of Cortex. Like Salad Puncher, or the shooter that is Xex.

Re: Coalition Heavy Forces Update smallermortarclipssmalerholes
Did I say you were unable to program GM? No. I said you were unable to program in general, especially in Lua.
I don't doubt that you're better at GM than me; I have no experience with it. However, Lua's been out for CC just as long for both of us, so it'd be a much more fair competition medium.
And I mean something that runs inside the cortex command engine that acts as a seperate game.
Let's put it up to the forum to decide what the actual rules are. I'll go make a topic.
