Reminiscing time
Mods, if this is the wrong forum, then move it please? What was your favorite thing in the "old days"(Pre B20 or so)? I personally enjoyed when rockets didn't gib, and so you could flip around the map crushing clones and terrain. I think that stopped around build 15 or 13? Anyway, what do you miss in CC? Duh also reminded me of when you could make a mod and it didn't matter how stupid it was, some people would still like it. I miss that...

Tomaster wrote: I personally enjoyed when rockets didn't gib Wish I was around for that. I kinda miss the time when numgun wasn't fixated on making an AAL faction and just made random crap. Actually, I miss the time when people in general didn't worry about factions and just made random crap, like Shook still does. In my book, the official CC stuff is for factions, modders can make factions, but I enjoy random stuff more. 'S why I enjoy the contests so much.

Re: Reminiscing time
I miss build 8. Non-gibby rockets were the ♥♥♥♥. I'd love to see that brought back, becuse a goddamn rocket should not ♥♥♥♥ explode just because it is laying on it's side and not moving. >:E I also enjoyed when there wasn't any of this Is Scrap bull♥♥♥♥. Also, Green/Blue clones need to be revamped and brought back.

Re: Reminiscing time
I miss the few but balanced weapons, and clones that were not to tough but not to weak, so the pistol was actually usefull. And the forum ahd tons of fun mods back then... sigh. Good times.

Re: Reminiscing time
Having flying torsos go around, and round the world many times... killing many unsuspecting people.
Being able to clogg your base up easily wit ACrafts, and then shoot down the terrain dancers.

-80000 HP Dropships cleaving through the map. Few but solid weapons made for good gameplay.

"Rockets burning their way through the map like the fist of an angry god."
Also I remember a gun someone made called the harkkonen cannon - it was basically a railgun that fired an explosive charge fast enough to penetrate walls, where the charge would then incinerate whatever was on the other side. It always used to do strange things but my god it was so much fun.

Re: Reminiscing time
Definatly the rockets not gibbing. And the abundance of mods back then. This makes me really sad.....
And as a matter of fact, I am almost absolutely sure that the first mod I downloaded was the old crobos for B13. Damn they were great.

If you love the old versions so much, go play the old versions that Grif has posted for your downloading pleasure. Most of us are looking forward to the things the game will accomplish, not the plethora of "bugs as features" that other builds were (in)famous for.

I remember playing against people and it would never end cuz you could easily fill any hole with a dropship.

The only 'bug as feature' worth re-implementing is non-gibby rockets (Not completely non-gibby, but semi-non-gibby). A rocket should not explode because it was left upside down/sideways, it makes as no sense at all. Look at it this way: Would your car explode if you took it and flipped on its roof? Obviously, no. Thus, a rocket shouldn't either. Non-gibby rockets would add to this 'realism' some people are looking for in CC. Everything else is pretty much junk we got used to back then. Edit: Where the ♥♥♥♥ did that extra 'it' after 'roof' came from? \:| Fixed now.

MaximDude wrote: Would your car explode if you took it and flipped on its roof it? It does in the movies I would like non-gibbing rockets back too (well, not back for me. I should go play just to see what it was like). Just have them like actors. When GibWoundLimit is up, break 'em up, same with GibImpulseLimit.

Re: Reminiscing time
The original Horiz Land. The base was amazing, I scuttled two rockets ontop the walls to save time before the enemies walked over them.
