SWORDS TALON (Robotic weapons/reconnaissance platform)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foster-Miller_TALONSWORDS (Special Weapons Observation Reconnaissance Detection System) Better than the Dreadnought because it has all-terrain treads, so no clumsy crab legs. I was also thinking that you can by a SWORD from the buy menu, and load it with a weapon like you would for an AHuman.

The name, SWORDS TALON, sounds like they found 2 cool words, strung em together, then ad libbed the acronym.

Backronyms are a valuable part of any DARPA contract.

Is DARPA an acronym or a backronym? BACKONTOPIC: This would be an awesome replacement for the dreadnaught. We would never have to use its lopsidedness again.

No matter what, you will always have to deal with ACrab legs until someone perfects the Humvee.

What's wrong currently? Besides the suspension. EDIT: And a lack of flippyness.

It digs into the ground alot. Well, at least that's what happend the last time I tried it. For the SWORDS mod, if wheels won't work, I thought of a good walkpath pattern that might be good on rough terrain: The red is the ACrab body, the blue lines are invisible legs, the black dots are the offset walkpaths, and the arrow shows the rotation.

Due to the suspension. If I had enough incentive, I could fix that.

Pretty interesting idea. Just don't forget to give it some kind of jet/jump pack, otherwise it will just get stuck like most ACrabs do. On a sidenote, why not make it steam powered?

Re: SWORDS TALON (Robotic weapons/reconnaissance platform)
Steam powered would require a steam engine, which makes loud noises and a big plume of smoke. A reconnaissance robot and a steam engine won't have very good results.
Some sort of jetpack/jump feature sounds good though. Maybe holding the jetpack button would activate dropship-like thrusters that flip out and give robot flight. ACrabs won't be the weaker ones now! Attack from the ground and sky! Bwa ha ha ha!
