Post Freeze on gun select
Mac, B23, no mods besides my own WIP.
I've finally added the (crappy prototype) sprite to a gun I've made, and CC loads fine.
In the Buy menu, the gun appears, and has the correct sprite, and rollover. However, when you order it, the game freezes.
Simply exchanging the sprite for another gun stops the crash, but obviously then I'm back to square one.

What have I done wrong, and what can I do to fix it?

Post the sprite, I'll try paletting it for you. Probably something funny in that.

Alright.
I was pretty certain it is in palette, I went so far as to set up photoshop with the correct color table, and then drew the gun right on tope of a palette.bmp using only the pencil and eye dropper.
Here you go, thanks for helping.

Hm, the colormap looked ok when I opened it, but see if this is any better.

Could be that one of the colors was out of order, didn't give it more than a glance.

Exactly the same issue, but that was a good idea.
I'm wondering if there is anything that could be an issue in the .ini file that is sprite specific perhaps.
Would an out-of-sprite offset cause a crash?
The gun is more or less the same shape as the coa heavy sniper, and that's what I took for the gun's base .ini.

Did you change the offsets when you exchanged the sprite out?
Out of sprite offsets wouldn't do anything, there have been plenty of those without crashes. It'd just act weird.

No, no changed offsets. It woul not make sense for that to be the cause anyway, if nobody's holding it.
BUT.
The plot thinkens.
I put all my other guns into a craft, and bought it.
Then I was able to add this gun to the order. It still froze, but the moving rocket proved this time it was not instant, and it did show up in the inventory for once.

There isn't any Sparkle Magic on this particular piece of kit, is there? I've never had this problem myself, but apparently the Dummy Behemoth Rocket Fist has it.

No sparkle magic in this version, I'm nothing like adept enough.
...
I wrapped up the rte for zipping up, and commented out the dumb guns.
Magically, that fixed it.
I have absolutely no idea what I did, but somewhere in there was a file that needed commenting.
Oh well, I'll just go check what's dependent on what again.
Thanks for the help, I'm grateful of the rapid response.

File comment: If you'd still like to see it, here you go.
It's such a WIP that I'm embarrassed.
