The weapon is cool, but can be toned down a bit.

Also, Soot-covered Dummies.

And by base do you mean you're testing the look of your colors out before you make your own actors?

Line 1 Answer. Would it be okay to have that and a toned down version?
Line 2 Answer. My favorite colour is black and if it wasn't I don't think the name would go well.
Line 3 Answer. Yes that is what I mean. I will be (hopefully) creating custom sprites and actors from scratch.

Line 1 Feedback: Yes.
Line 2 Feedback: As long as you pick a secondary highlight color, all it good. All black actors never really work out well.
Line 3 Feedback: Definitely try your hand at custom sprites.

Thank you all for your help!

1 more thing...

I am trying to re-sprite a bit more...

when in photoshop cs4 they look like this...

You might need to save and zoom in to see the quality.

This is using the CC Greyscale.aco colour swatch from that sticky topic.

Definitely a palette problem.

You sure you're using the right swatch?

EDIT: Got to be something borked with your color swatch.

These are your sprites in CC Palette:

Well yes, I tried that as it has all the blacks/grays I need for a smooth gradient. But it turns out like that error.

If I use this one...

Then it will look right but not smooth (pixelated).

You can only make a sprite so smooth with the colors in the CC palette.

Darlos9D's Darkstorm Mod uses black a lot as well (with blue as an accent), and he blends them out just fine. Try taking a look around his sprites to get the idea of the color ramp he's using.

Though your current in palette sprites wouldn't look so bad if you "de-line" them, and round out each color more.

Why can't cortex command support every colour? That would be so awesome.

Something like this looks just fine (for a 2 minute touch-up):

It might be that you are using the right swatch but your file isn't set to the correct colour mode.

Before you save your bitmap the file must be set to indexed colour, and the active palette must be identical to the CC one.

Easiest way to do this is to just copy your sprites over a CC bitmap before saving.

It would, however it means a lot more data per object, so it would lag like crap. For a demo of what it would be like, try putting a bunch of glows up on screen that are about as big as regular sprites.

Yeah, that's why it looks like crap, because it uses the CC Swatch.

I believe that "response" is incomplete, it doesn't make sense!
