   |   5 days a stranger / 7 days a skepticJust discovered these little gems, played through them both. Quite good buildup and playability. In case you haven't seen them, I recommend you play them both, 5 days and 7 days . The art isn't up to even n64 standards, but it is charming in it's own right. I think I would enjoy more of these than, say, Halo. One thing, in 7 days. Does anyone know if this is related to our favorite game by Daniel Tabar?

   |   Re: 5 days a stranger / 7 days a skepticWelcome to me being twelve years old, and reading Yahtzee's blog daily when very few people knew who he was.
Also the scariest games with paint sprites ever.

   |   Re: 5 days a stranger / 7 days a skepticThe art ain't that bad. I mean, it's not like a Monkey Island or The Dig SCUMM games, but it's OK.
About the reference: perhaps it is. If so, a cookie for the devs of that game for supporting CC. But I think it might be a reference to other games, as brains in jars are quite common. For example, in Fallout 2, many people got stuck in the part in which they got the disembodied brain, not knowing that they had to install it in an empty brainbot. That might explain why the character is saying that he can't figure out what to do with the brain.

   |   Re: 5 days a stranger / 7 days a skepticThe reference is nothing to do with CC, the game was made way before CC was remotely popular. Brains in a jar are hardly the exclusive domain of Datarealms.

   |   Re: 5 days a stranger / 7 days a skepticThey really are great, but pretty difficult. I'm still stuck on day two from 5 days. Can't drain that cursed pool.

   |   Re: 5 days a stranger / 7 days a skepticI've only played The Art of Theft, and I must say, that was a FUN game. Got all the highest ranks on every level, and that took some effort.

   |   Re: 5 days a stranger / 7 days a skepticJust solved the mistery. Download the special edition of 7 days on the author's website, press F10 to activate the production comments, and use the game machine on the first day. A big letterbox appears and tells that "This was a reference to Rob Blanc 2, in case you were wondering". I guess that means case closed, folks. Unless any of you wants to search for what the heck Rob Blanc is.

   |   Re: 5 days a stranger / 7 days a skepticI played through five and seven and enjoyed them mostly.I did pull up a walkthrough a few times for both though, but only for a single instruction after being stuck, stumped, and clueless for a minimum of five minutes. If I hadn't, I'm certain I would have just stopped and given up on the series. Better to miss out on the experience of figuring out one thing than the miss that and rest of the series, in my opinion.

Hints for 7 Days, without spoilers: Save a lot. Save after the reeeaaallly long cutscene, you'll know it when you see it.

Like you Areku, I was stuck there too.
I won't post any clear spoilers for you to read though.
But maybe I'd give you a hint.
 Really that wouldn't spoil anything.
All the challenge in this kind of game is interpreting hints, mostly at least.
Rigorous observancy is occasionally needed when you get stuck like that though.
Yet putting that much patience into a game ruins the fun, in my experience.

 Edit: Just started 6.
Text input and key movement? Not liking it. Not at all.
Edit: Finished it, got used to it. Still annoyed "open door" wasn't somehow more convenient.

Another edit: Played through 6 Days a Sacrifice.
what is this i dont even

   |   Re: 5 days a stranger / 7 days a skepticI loved 5 days a stranger, but couldn't ass myself to complete Trilby's Notes. Now that the special editions are free, I might download them and see if I could finish the series.

Something tells me that I'll be visiting Yahtzee's games page again soon, to strip mine it of downloads.
