Don't add anymore colors, 13 is already a lot for such a small sprite. Work on contrast

the best way to pull contrast is to use the opposite color of the Primary color. If its an Orange color use a Blue green if its red use green. Dont just use darker versions of the primary colors for shadows, that just makes it muddy.

Down to 11 colors. I'll try and add some contrast, thanks for explaining, Bob. So use opposites on the color wheel for shadows. I don't know about you, but it looks weird to me. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. :/

Brighten the dark blue, maybe add some red into it, this way it won't look out of place.

Wow, that is more visually... interesting. Hm. 9 colors. (Also, for anyone who didn't know, this is a planet, and the red is irony water. (like how people guess Mars's water was.))
