Good ideas for jet fighter weapons?
I cant really get any good ideas. I'm making a this jet and it can carry any number of weapons since its an AHuman, but I dont know what could work the best. I also would want to limit to have 2 weapons only. 3 is absolute max. Since its a vehicle, the weapons can be somewhat more powerful than usual handheld trooper weapons.
The classic MG/Missile setup is just old and boring, so I would want to do something more interesting than that, just aslong as its not overly overpowered or ridiculous.
Any suggestions what you'd want to see on a futuristic jet fighter with vertical take off and landing capabilities? Something that would be practical in combat, but also fun and new.

Homing swarm missiles and a 20mm HE gatling cannon with heat seeking rounds. And maybe some lasers.

Homing swarm missiles, virulent nanobot launcher. Oh, and equip it with lua based anti-homing missile code.

Hmm, alright. I kinda had a thought for that. I guess the other weapon will be a powerful laser. It would make sense since the swarming missiles would take out enemies in masses, while the laser cannon would deliver precise shots with extra pierciness power. Looks like I have the weapons set then, swarm missiles and a laser cannon. Case closed.

needs more dropped bombs, with lots of spreading energy fires and residue. the missles need cool trails that arent spammy, should home wildly innacurately but have decent kinetic damage, just make it home in slowly on a random point in relation to the targets position. if you make a laser, make it seem hot, and fire in a short burst, so you can sweep an area of like 5 actors if you're going very fast, or fry a dropship.
other than that, the sprite is ugly as of now. needs to be way longer. the jet should have afterburners, and be set to activate afterburners when you press up, as well as shooting lots of fire, and air-brake when you press down. it should be able to hover with its gentle thrusters upwards, and generally look more pretty. this could be awesome if you do it right, and shitty if you dont. i'll be waiting.

Just add a good old Tesla Cannon (today is Nikola Tesla's birthday ) with some fancy Lua to make it automatically direct lightning bolts at "human-sized objects" (read: enemy actors) on the surface.

I was thinking about bombs at first, but then since the missiles are homing, theres no need for them since the missiles will do the same job.
As for the laser, I was first thinking about a single shot beam, but now that you mention, I got a better idea of doing it. I'll use the spin up thing to my advantage on it and make it a rapid beam of fire.
Also dont wait for it, I'm not gonna release this. Its a little fun experiment of mine.Goddamit noone saw this, my joke failed, you darn kids.
