Re: Kamikaze Rocket Dummy
To my surprise the rocket was wired to the DOWN button instead of crouch which led to a couple funny accidents at first hand.
I'm playing keyboard only. I think you might have mixed up the binding code at Lua.

Yeah, i played with keyboard only (when my friend played with keyb.+mouse) and experienced the same problem. That is annoying when you are trying to shoot someone.

Re: Kamikaze Rocket Dummy
Where is the thrust controlling key defined in LUA? I want to change it from S to spacebar or C or something.

Re: Kamikaze Rocket Dummy
You could always set it up to use actor:GetController:IsState(Controller.BODY_CROUCH). That would make it work for all control setups.

Re: Kamikaze Rocket Dummy
Any chance we could use up and down to change the angle of flight? It would allow for even more control. I can see it already: Red Bull Dummy Rocket Racing GP!

But then there should be two versions of the unit: Controllable flight and Uncontrollable. Is that a good idea? E: And the controllable should be more expensive, i think.

Re: Kamikaze Rocket Dummy
?
Why the hell two versions if you simply want to ram the thing like you can right now? Besides, it will open much more launching possibilities. Like straight up or diagonally up or down.

Because aiming is alot funnier this way. (In my opinion.) And because the controllable is more "better" and then it would be good if it would be more expensive.

You think you might want to make a heat seeking version? Okay, I'm giving it a shot. However, I'm having a little bit of an issue with shifting the rocket's trajectory. The Homing Missile method doesn't work very well when your already flying pretty fast. Suddenly pointing the rocket at the target doesn't always cut it =P (the Zombie will momentarily flash white when the rocket locks on). There should be a way to account for this in mid-flight. I'm trying to avoid using Lua to alter the dummy's velocity, and instead let the rocket's thrust handle it. I'll use Lua to rotate the dummy in the proper angle needed to hit the target. I'm going have to sit down and think this one out. It isn't rocket science...I hope. Also, after this, I want to make a "terrain hugging" version of the rocket dummy just for the heck of it.
