Re: A game that runs itself
I had that but it gets boring so fast. Isn't very watchable either. I am still looking for more programs/games that fit my criteria so keep 'em comin.

I just was reminded of this: http://xkcd.com/350/Anyway, electric sheep is very interesting to look at. Extremely abstract(animated fractals).

http://www.fernlightning.com/doku.php?i ... :waterlifeIt's the most beautiful screensaver I've had for the least CPU intensive-ness. I had one of those reallyslick ones before, it's truly awesome, but the point of a screensaver is to save energy, not take up more CPU than it would if it were idle.

Re: A game that runs itself
The original point was to prevent screen burnout on CRTs.
Of course if you have an LCD, screensavers are just a decoration.

http://scr.sc/products/kazetodesktop/Basically it takes all your desktop icons, and blows them around according to the weather conditions in your area.

Old CRTs had a bad tendency to damage the phosphoric lining on the glass panel. As such, you would get phosphor burn-in. You use certain pixels too often (ie, leave certain still imagery on the screen) and you will damage the componets. Additionally, this is not limited to old CRTs. New CRTs and flat-panels (both LCD and plasma) are capable of being affected by this. They are significantly more resistance to it, but it is quite possible. TL;DR: Burn-in happens even now, but most people are smart and use screensavers/turn equipment off.

Can you give me a link to that if you still remember where you saw it? Or at least a name you can remember or something.
