A game that runs itself
I'm looking for a sort of game or program or simulation screensaver or whatever that runs itself with little input from the player. Basically something that's always different, changing, evolving etc that I can just watch.
I've seen little java applets simulating a zombie invasion with grey walls and pink/green dots running around. Something like that is what I'm looking for but on a grander scale.
Any suggestions DRL?

I remeber this from some time ago, fairly interesting: http://www.darwinbots.com/WikiManual/in ... =Main_PageNot sure if it has a screensaver mode.

Doesn't have to have a screensaver. But yes that is quite nice.

Oh, and this is also fairly interesting to watch: http://fallingsandgame.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=8096Not exactly evolving, but it fits the changing category quite well.

It doesn't have to fit each criteria ya know. Heh. But yeah this might be good if it didn't crash each time I clicked....anything.

I would assume free is an implied category.
I really don't know why it's crashing, the only problems I have are when you drag and hold. Little clicks work.

Re: A game that runs itself
I would guess that you have something running that kills stalled programs. There is a problem that I have where it seems to stall for a few seconds, but then loads properly.
Anyway, I think I have the ninja fight screensaver on my flash drive. Found a rehost, scroll down.

That would be awesome if you or someone else could provide a current version download for that ninja fight.

I was just thinking about this game earlier, trying to remember what it was.

Re: A game that runs itself
I found a rehost of a Vista-converted edition: http://files.filefront.com/Ninja+Fight+ ... einfo.htmlUnfortunately, it is buggy on vista, as vista has alot of compatibility issues, and it had to be hackishly converted. Creatures is nice, the creatures are actually running neural networks, but IMHO, it turned out too "cute" instead of the original goal of virtual life.
