If you did a whole pack of final fantasy mods like this, You would be my hero.

Is there any way you could control the first jump?

As in:
-First jump you hold as long as you want to jump for until you reach the maximum
-If you let go early then the upward force stops and you keep momentum
-Then the rest are his little mid-air jumps.

This is because his first jump irritates me because it at lasts so long and so high

I must admit this actor's a bit weak when it comes to taking damage, but after I spent a while jumping around I found that it was quite easy to slaughter waves of dummys, and clone while only getting hit 2 or 3 times in the foot.

A pic just for fun I thought this was pretty funny.

Yep it's exactly what you think I was playing with kain on the zombie cave mission and well I got hit by a bomb and FAIL. Not that good in enclosed spaces

This is an idea. I could explore the possibilities.

I love that first GIF. It looks like he's riding an electric broomstick

One more idea. It might clash with Final Fantasy but purple doesn't fit in Cortex Command. How about black armor?

I don't know about recolors. I think he's true to form as of the last FFIV remake.
It's kind of like making Sephiroth with blue hair, just feels off.

You could use lua to check for whether or not "jump" is being held, and after it is released, you can use altitude checks to determine whether or not he's on the ground yet. If he isn't you just disable jumping until he is.

Most platform games seem to follow the formula of "hold jump until you want to stop ascending, and then you immediately start falling back down," which is exactly what franchan seems to be suggesting. It affords a level of control that most people seem to like when playing their platformers. Since Kain is all about jumping, its clearly a good idea.

It's another reason I made his legs very strong impulse limit wise, and joint strength wise, so you can land on actors to kill them.

Hmmmm...Is it possible to do a forward jump?

You know, You go forward instead of up-forward?

You mean like, leap straight ahead?
It's an art really, you crouch and forward until you're at a good angle, then jump sends you flying in an arc in that direction.

As for like, a forward charge or leap, no, none that I know of.

Oh...Ok.

Anyways, I tested him out awhile ago.

He is VERY weak. And he lost his spear right when a tiny dropship gib hit him.

The jumping is really cool.

I didn't want him to be invincible. Maybe I can fiddle with his impuls and gib limits some more.

That would be fixed by increasing the joint strength on the spear.

I'm listing all these changes down for the next build.

He's already more durable in what I've changed. I'm just waiting until I can get some Sparkle Magic up in here to put those awesome jump ideas to use.
