Re: Fan-creation in progress!
Grif;
An SMG is almost inevitable. I've made far more complex weapons in SL. I've actually contemplated making a Digger that can actually terraform land (Pity that SL terrain is a heightmap and not a true mesh), but tunnels wouldn't be possible. Could always make him a Dummy Blaster. Oh, also, updated with recent progress; It has legs now! Unfortunately, some highly obnoxious news came to pass today, in that Linden Lab, the omnipotent (and completely moronic as of late) creators of Second Life decided to kill off the 'bug' used to hide the ordinary avatar mesh so robots like this one can be made without having a human hanging out of them. In other words, actually using this thing as an avatar just got shot in the foot by Linden idiocy. However, there's very little I can do about that but finish it as a static object for now and turn it into a character later, when they finally get off their asses and add alpha masking to avatars (which will allow me to hide the ugly avatar mesh they default you to and walk around as Dummy Goodness). On the other hand, being unable to hide the mesh won't much matter if I do a Coalition Heavy next. Also, try to ignore a few of the ugly visible seams in the leg detailing; I haven't made a fused mesh for the tubing yet, so it's currently made of primitives.
I've had the temptation to do up a Dropship Mk 1 at some point as a flyable vehicle. Might be fun.
In any case, Data, if you're reading this, do you mind if I direct people to datarealms.com through these creations? I'd rather not presume to have it be 'official' promotional content, but I'd be honored if you wouldn't mind seeing some rather unusual and interactive Cortex Command promo objects out in the wild like this.

I highly doubt any indie dev would turn down free publicity, even from that crowd.

Numgun's a dev who works with Data probably more than anyone except Prom, and on top of that: Grif wrote: I highly doubt any indie dev would turn down free publicity, even from that crowd.

Looks like some fairly good sculpted prim work. Nice job.
If you have a shop or anything you should post a second life location url thing.

Re: Fan-creation in progress!
Just wait for the roleplaying in SL to turn into non-destructable CC warfare, with dropships, rockets, crates....rockets flying INTO crates and/or actors.
