Mission: [Coalition] Dummy Twins
It seems we've located those dummies responsible for the recent attack at Maginot. Dummy controller and his backup are located to the North of Maginot. We don't know which controller is the main and which one is just a memory backup, so you need to kill both. Dummy facility seems to be almost unguarded, so you don't need much funds or forces for this job. But if something goes wrong, don't hesitate to capture live dummies. Our intelligence will award you additional funds, as they are interested in any data contained in the brains of those dummies. You will be given an armored robot body for safety, but it does not mean that you are so valuable you can retreat before both controllers are dead. No retreat, no surrender. Good luck. I'll try it out, but weegee wrote: Dummy facility seems to be almost unguarded, makes me scratch my head. There's a bloody dummy at every door and every hallway. I'd call that almost completely covered.

Re: Mission: Dummy Twins
I played the mission. I thought, undefended huh?. Ok, I'll just sneak in a shinobi tengu and destroy their controllers.
Mommets later Dummy armies rain down from the sky to destroy my brain. I had no other units at my dispossal so I drove me into complete panic. Undefended huh? Looks like the headquarters made a big mistake, a BIG God damn mistake.
Anyway, it's a nice mission, not bad. I enjoyed every moment of it.
Though the last instruction appeared was too long to fit into the screen, and disappears too quickly. I had no idea what to do. Also, the modules can be more detailed, decorate them with more bunker bits. For example the landing pads, they're too plain.

Re: Mission: Dummy Twins
Further testings. The dummies have LOADS of reinforcements, as oppose to what the HQ says. Heck, undefended. I must say the sudden dreadnought is a nice touch, does bring a big surprise I'll go back and try to really beat it now. I like this mission. My not so fortunate experiences after testing (very long, feel free not to read): *SPOILER WARNING* *This post contains elements of the mission. Do not read if you want to experience the mission fully* Damn, my attempts to beat this mission with regular units were futile. I used UniTech stuff, but only the weaker soldier units and their pre-equips, no add-on weapons, no bunker, no SAM. Sending in a squad would only get them killed. Even on the way to the bunker Dummies will land on your heads. After you got in, you are basically surrounded by reinforcements of Dummies from both sides. If you do get a guy up to the brain room, there is a high chance that he gets killed by Dummies or Dreadnoughts, abiet getting the controllers killed. I got my brain bot escaped into the bunker before the bombing. Time was so tight that you have to get moving immediately after you killed the controllers. And the bombing started right after my brain got in, one of its escorts died in the bombing. So all I was left with was the brain and Tanya(a sniper). Then Dummies started raining down outside. Yes, raining like actually watery rain. My lone sniper kept firing and firing but there was no end to the Dummy reinforcements. Finally, Dummies from the main entrance basically flushed in, and Dummies started coming from the top entrance. Tanya got killed from the back. My brain bot made its last stand but died quickly after it got surrounded up close. Damn it was hard. I'll try to do this again with vanilla units.

Re: Mission: Dummy Twins
Unfortunately I haven't so much fun while I was testing this again and again I was able to beat this mission only with heavy clones armed with Coalition's Heavy sniper and Minigun while defending the brain, and with Auto Shotgun and Assualt rifle when storming the base. Of course I know all the traps and when\why every new battle phase starts, so my casualties are less than 15 in the end vs 70-80 dead dummies. In the final phase you need to save your brain as soon as possible. Dummies are so overwhelming and heavily armed that you can't even try to resist. I call the dropship as soon as bombing is over with a couple of armed heavy clones, drop them to stop the dummies and get my brain from the roof.

Re: Mission: Dummy Twins
Reading through the posts here, this seems like a quite difficult mission...
INSTANT DL! (I seriously need something to challenge me right now)
And looking at the only screenshot, the map does seem a bit boring, having not a lot of details, but still, sounds like fun!

Re: Mission: Dummy Twins
The fact that you included two brains could have been a good scenario, with you having to assault two bases or at least travel to two parts of a base.
Instead you put one directly on top of the other. What was the point of including more than one if you were just going to do that?

A simple scene, but with many surprises. I loved it.

Re: Mission: Dummy Twins
That was fun. Great mission, thanks for the hours-o-fun. Protip: A easy way of beating this mission is to load a actor into a craft with a heavy digger, fly to the top of the base, land the actor on the roof and to dig through both brains. But who'd want to do that right? CBM02
