Post Red Dummies
Well hello again! This is a simple mod that changes the colour of the orange dummies, into red dummies. You will still be able to access the orange dummies aswell though (and the blue dummies if you've downloaded my previous mod.)

Image

This is my red dummies, standing next to my previous mod, the blue dummy. You can download both of them below.

Contents: This includes all red weapons
All red actors
Red brain
THIS DOESN'T CONTAIN RED CRAFT HOWEVER
( The blue dummy mod is exactly the same, but everything is blue)

I have not changed the variables on any of the weapons/actors. This is just a simple resprite mod. It is for people who like a little bit of variety.

If you recolor dummies, you got to keep their trademark dummy symbol on their head! It's essential! :D

I can change the weapon variables fine, it's changing the actors variables i'm not to sure about. I spent ages on build 22 trying to fix it when a mod went wrrong. I haven't tried since.

2nd post: And I have kept the dummy symbol. Its just recoloured.

Even recolored I think Orange/Black or keeping it Yellow/Black on the reds would be cool. The blue is fine as is for a recolor.

if you back up the file, theres no risk.
heres some basic variables you can change, to make the mod unike code-wise:
if you can find it, you can change the jumptime variable shown in context below
Jetpack = AEmitter
CopyOf = =Jetpack Heavy
ParentOffset = Vector
X = -6
Y = 3
DrawAfterParent = 0
JumpTime = 4 //
which is flight time.

change the GibImpulseLimit = X
and the GibWoundLimit = X
variable to determene the streangth of the actors limbs, but be sure keep it balinced.
those are only 3 basic variables, but there enough to defrenchiate bettween a light unit, and a beast (strong actor).

I mean they are nice recolors, but you really oughta change some variables. Like lafe said, changing gibimpulselimit and gibwoundlimit will affect your actor's "strength", and impulsedamagethreshold will also do the same. You can also make new particles to come out of your jetpack to add something more to the dummy. Overall, pretty okay mod, but needs some work. :)

Post Re: Red Dummies
Like they said, maybe a little variation on the abilities of the colors. For example:

Orange: Standard Dummies, equipment, etc.

Red: Red dummies more resistant to bullets, weapons do more damage than orange weapons, but are more expensive and weapons take longer to reload.

Blue: Blue dummies are faster/lighter than orange dummies, weapons are lighter and have faster rate of fire, but are more expensive (same cost as reds) and are weaker to bullets and mass-based projectiles.

New dummy types?

Green: Green dummies are generally more resistant to mass-based projectiles than orange and red dummies, and their weapons have more stopping power, but more expensive than red/blue dummies and heavier as well, making flying/climbing harder.

Purple: Purple dummies are exceptionally cheap (1/2 the price of an orange dummy), but are 1/3 as effective in terms of bullet/mass-based projectile resistance, speed, flight time, weapon resistance, rate of fire, piercing ability and 1/3 lighter than oranges.

White: twice as good as normal orange dummies, but heavier by 1/3, and twice as expensive.

Red vs. Blue Cortex Command Dummy style

Recolouring looks nice although i think if you made your own sprites and shtuff it'd be a tad better

I'm much more partial to a red-orange-yellow, green, blue-indigo-violet combo.

OH MY GOD!!!!
AWESOME!!!
Classic orange dummies just weren't awesome enough - so you - bred purely for awesomeness decides AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! these dummies are orange.... THAT'S NOT COOL ENOUGH! So you set on a quest to make BLUE and RED dummies and then you're like now this... this is awesome. I'm totally downloading this. It's awesome oh and did you make RED AND BLUE (awesome) dummy weapons!
(This is not sarcastically my favorite mod I've seen since build 14!!!!) Kudos to you on a job well done! :grin: :wink: :grin:

True, it doesn't take much skill to do something like this, which is why we are suggesting things to make it better, like different abilities.
