Why they're called the dummy faction.
Okay, so my brother was working on the dummy assault mission. About twenty minutes or so into it, suddenly the game tells him he had won. I really wanted to know why, so I took a screenshot.
Apparently, the dummies dug through their own base and destroyed their own brain. How did this happen? Idunno. But I think that's funny-- especially since I'm not the one who had all that time wasted.
Haha.

Man, Mind. You don't have to get so aggressive over nothing.
I've never seen that happen before! You did nothing and they just killed themselves?

Nah, nah, it's my fault. I didn't see the stickied thread.
Sorry about that.
But my brother was just playing through the level like normal. I've always noticed the dummies digging through their own fortress, I guess I just never gave them enough time to do that or something. actually, I have a couple other pictures I took that shows the clear line the enemy dummies were digging to get to the controller.

You didn't have to say it three times, to someone who wasn't spamming, he was merely misinformed. Very mellow, I might add. I'll have to see if I can get that to happen! What would make the A.I. do that though?

Nah, no offense was taken. I can't really get mad at being corrected for something I did wrong, lol.
I have no idea what possessed the CPU to do that, lol. As you can see in the picture, the dummy was clearly reaching its digger towards the controller when it unleashed its mindless self-aware fury.
Maybe the dummies because so self-aware that they forgot they were working together and decide to rebel against anything that moves or delivers orders.

Code: for actors in MovableMan.Actors do actors:GetController():SetState(Controller.WEAPON_FIRE,true) end English - This will cause every actor on the map to fire it's weapons. I suspect faulty waypoint, though. It's not attacking the brain as a brain, but as terrain in the way.

Re: Why they're called the dummy faction.
That would make sense because every time I do the mission, I notice dummies traveling in that direction, particularly dummies armed with diggers. I guess when I do it, I beat the mission before they can stupid it up for me, but since my brother's rather new to the game, he happens to take significantly longer. Next thing you know, the enemy is his friend, lol.

Re: Why they're called the dummy faction.
I've explained this one before. Basically, when one of the dummies is spawned from the entrance on the left, it chooses one of three paths: Find a random point in the base and go to it, attack your brain, or defend the dummy controller. Unfortunately, setting its waypoint to the brain's position has the nasty side-effect of it attempting to dig through the material around the brain so it can go to the brain's exact position. I didn't foresee this, and it never actually happened to me during playtesting, so it went unnoticed. The AI no longer goes to the brain's exact position, as that option has been removed, taking the likelihood of that happening again down a few notches.

This actually happened to me twice, so it's not just his pc.

Re: Why they're called the dummy faction.
I think I've had that happen to me before, I was playing the mission and I suddently won out of nowhere, but since I couldn't move the camera I didn't see what destroyed the brain.

Re: Why they're called the dummy faction.
This was really disappointing for me. When I first tried the level, I went and did it very systematically, setting up Ronin at various checkpoints while whispering to myself "secure the perimeter secure the perimeter". I was almost at the last corridor to the ladder to the brain room when they seppuku'd.

Oh man, that would have made me so mad, lol.
I couldn't control my camera, either. I basically had to jerk the mouse and press the print screen key really fast to snag that picture.
