I don't care if you just rehash the old Ypsilon and make it a glorified laser cannon, I loved that feeling of impending doom when that thing hung overhead. Secondary and tertiary stages were just superfluous after that thing raped your base's roof.

Dunno if this about the ypsilon anymore actually. The point is its a large destroyer spaceship with multiple attacks. The "alpha strike" attack that is the ultimate final "nuke and wtflol ypsilon" like attack similar to the old ypsilon and the most powerful weapon of AAL, but mostly its gonna be a whole new thing made from scratch.
I might need a new name for it too. What would one call a super cool giant destroyer spaceship of doom? What could a good name...?

There are a wide range of cool sounding greek letters such as Ypsilon that would work great, and by using one like this you would get a sense of continuation (as in for people who remember ypsilon will see it as an advancement)
Letters (with greek captial and non capital symbols) -
Αα	Alpha Νν Nu Ββ	Beta Ξξ Xi Γγ	Gamma Οο Omicron Δδ	Delta Ππ Pi Εε	Epsilon Ρρ Rho Ζζ	Zeta Σσς Sigma Ηη	Eta Ττ Tau Θθ	Theta Ιι	Iota Φφ Phi Κκ	Kappa Χχ Chi Λλ	Lambda Ψψ Psi Μμ	Mu Ωω Omega
(I removed Upsilon because it is the same as Ypsilon, the same letter in greek) Other characters and oboslete letters -
Digamma, Qoppa, San, Sampi, Stigma, Sho, Heta
  (All lovingly ripped from wikipedia)
Ones I personally like are Omega, Theta, Digamma, Heta, Omicron and Kappa

If I had to pick from the list, I would pick Iota.

However, Iota is commonly used as a way of saying something is very small or insignificant, not at all what this weapons gonna be like if his other mods are anything to judge by

Yeah. Iota Accelerator. See? Or, like, Iota Bombarder. It bombards insignificant things! (Phew, that improvisation actually worked out. -_-;)

BEHOLD MY MASTERPIECE, THE IOTA CANNON! FIRE!!!
  *poit*
Anyway, lol. Hmmm... how about the Omega Destructor Cannon? Might not make too mcuh sense, but I get a good vibe from it. I derive a little inspiration from the phrase 'I am alpha and omega', which is to mean the beginning and the end by my understanding.

Just make it cause an athmospheric eletromagnetic storm that makes the sky turn red and call it the Crazy Sunshine Cannon. Greek names tend to get boring pretty fast if overused. (Though I'm a big fan of Lambda and Sigma. Alpha n' Omega also sounds nice.)

It looked pretty cool. see: insability inc. srsly though, get working on this. i'd prefer it to be a "boss type" enemy/superweapon, but its really more about it being reusable, rather than a one time use "lol that was OPd *delete*" type mod.

The Yp could be interesting as a constant use thing. Little to no terrain damage, and able to be scrolled sideways, kept at a certain, accessible height above terrain using GetAltitude(). Not likely where you're going with the Yp, but I would DL that.

Just to say, you could just take the train code, and 1.) change self.Hover variable or whatever to self.Pos.Y, so that wherever you place it, thats where it stays. 2.)make maxvel = 0 3.) use if (UInputman:KeyHeld(1)) then self.Pos.X = self.Pos.X - 10 and (UInputman:KeyHeld(4)) then self.Pos.X = self.Pos.X + 10 for side to side movement. Not that hard

Mind wrote: you could just take the train code That's exactly what I was thinking, but I would require a working copy of the Yp for b23, which I don't have, and I'm too lazy to untangle the b20/b21 mess of the Yp strung all throughout AAL2.rte. Still, when this Yp is finished...

Call it the "You are so ♥♥♥♥ right now"
Infact, make it announce it's presence just before it attacks.
  "BZZ
YOU ARE SO ♥♥♥♥ RIGHT NOW
  BZZ"
  *BOOM*
