Post Bodies tab locking the game.
So I'm playing CC and I noticed that in Build 23, if I click on the Bodies tab of the buy menu, the entire game locks up so badly I need Task Manager to get rid of it. I know the reason is my mod, which obviously has custom actors in it. CC does not like something about my actors and what boggles my mind is that they spawn and function just fine if I create them through the scene editor... The issue seems to definitely involve my actors and the buy menu, but it eludes me quite well. The only other hint that I have to go off of is that if I were to use the unmodified mod in B22 (save some slight converting such as 'Dummy Blaster' to 'Blaster'), it works perfectly without a hitch.

Any ideas? :???:

I don't even know what CC could possibly dislike to be able to figure this one out myself.

Are you sure it's your mod, or another mod?

If it is your mod, do you use any Lua?

Because Lua has invented all kinds of new errors that scare and confuse me.

If it's an error with buy menu I can assure you it's not Lua.

Besides, the lua errors seldom result in crashes. Just nagging in console.

Well I've never seen anything like this before B23, so I naturally assumed it was a Lua thing.

Summing up my posts- I have no idea what this is and I am useless, sorry.

Names are too long and lack spaces.

A name like Stormtrooper would lock the game up, whereas Storm Trooper would not.

It's definitely my mod. If I disable it everything works fine. Just to be sure, I even tried CC with just my mod, and the same thing happens. I do use some Lua, but it's only used in a scene, nothing outside B22's capabilities.

@Roy-G-Biv: You know... I think you just might be on to something. Testing now!

EDIT: That was precisely the problem. Thanks, guys! I doubt I'd have ever caught on to that. Does anyone suppose that problem will be fixed in the future?

CC doesn't allow the use of long names because people need to see the gold cost properly.
Back then, if you had a name too long, it wouldn't crash, but you couldn't see the gold cost properly.

Hopefully that'll be fixed next build.

Yeah, the gold cost thing did get on my nerves. I don't see why CC can't just break the name off at the character limit and move it to the next line, though. Although for highly variable name lengths, I can imagine that proposing a slight level frustration for coding. At least the game is friendly with names that have spaces in them, though.
