Yeah, orange seems the most uniform color to use here. It is gonna be part of the next AAL update.

Crap ideas I'll just throw out here so you guys can yell at me. a: Massive explosive rounds hurled at the ground over a wide area that retain shaped-charge characteristics and blow the ♥♥♥♥ out of everything underground while leaving surface terrain relatively intact. b: Swarm of "energy bolts" that streak down, drunkenly rape everything around without being consumed, and then dissipate after a certain amount of time. c: EMP pulse that fries out the circuitry of any unit not above a certain depth. Effective as a precursor to any other rapetastic effects? d: Multiple charges that slam into the ground, making tunnels, then erupt in volcanoes of spewing energy. Pillars of fire anyone? e: Cloud of large "energy mines" that float down slowly and asplode magnificently at the slightest impulse. Strike fear with slow death. f: Large field of slow-burning plasma is thrown down on most of the field, effectively giant area-denial.

Too primitive. This is a massive SPACE CANNON.

What if we had some kind of bomb that drops a bunch of those terrain-eating things that Shook made? That would be wicked.

But what seems more powerful; a bright blue beam o' death barrelling through the terrain towards your head, or the same except orange? And besides, a more energetic (powerful) beam would be blue, since it would go from red, to orange, yellow, blue, white (I think), then you would probably be dead before you got to see the next color. In summary class, an orange beam would be suitable for a weaker attack, such as the one described earlier, the bunker busting one, while a blue beam would be more suited to a rapetastic for all involved attack, such as the one I described.

To be honest I don't think realism is something to take into account, an orange laser would match with the style of the army, thats all that really matters, surely?
Anyway, who's to say they aren't using some form of energy we aren't aware of, which causes particles in the air to become orange? or something like that, it's a game lol

Re: Ypsilon Reborn ))AAL Discussion
Perhaps, but it's the FEEL of it. An orange laser doesn't feel NEARLY as powerful as a BLUE one.

It would feel more powerful if it was a white to orange gradient.

Re: Ypsilon Reborn ))AAL Discussion
If the Ypsilon has a single fire massive explosion weapon, the explosion sound should just be completely silent.
There's something about a sufficiently large explosion with no sound that is just cooler than a big bang.

There's something about a sufficiently large explosion with no sound that is just cooler than a big bang. In that case, it should make everything silent. It should just kill all sounds and make the world silent until the weapon is finished exploding and whatnot.

Re: Ypsilon Reborn ))AAL Discussion
Or have it silent, with the explosion fading in after a few seconds. Oh, and for the laser I didn't mean solid orange, I meant mainly white but with and orange gradient towards the edges. The explosion thing sounds epic, by the way
