It's a huge superweapon. If it blew up, the resulting reactor explosion would annihilate the planet. It's reactor is about 100x the size of the AAL reactor.

them being? if it just leaves after the final stage you still lose it, you might as well have a nice explosion for your trouble.

You could return it and get half the money you spent back after renting the Ypsilon.

Anyhow, where'd the name Ypsilon come from?

1. the 20th letter of the Greek alphabet (Υ, υ).
2. the vowel sound represented by this letter.
3. Also called upsilon particle. Physics. any of a family of heavy, short-lived, neutral mesons that are composed of a bottom quark and its antiquark. Symbol: Υ, υ
Origin:
1615–25; < LGk ŷ psīlón lit., simple u (to distinguish it from the digraph oi, pronounced the same in LGk)

This is basically a copy of Geti's post, because I thought that was a good template.

MAIN WEAPONS - mounted and powerful.
-Geti's ypsilon beam, with the lightning effects, only it rebounds down bunkers like an electrolaser, only it doesn't damage terrain (negative sharpness?). I like the kinetic shockwave, maybe that coud be based on the tacnuke's initial damaging air rush made of glow. You could also use lua to make it pick up and carry actors it hits, for extra impulse damage. It should be a huge beam, it should break through terrain, but it shouldn't do it too hard, like the MPAM phase-beam or something Also, make the ypsilon cannon itself disappear off the screen, as in, the cannon's only the tip of the iceberg. No, just, no, the cannon wouldn't be the cannon without the terrain rape. -Foa
-The hellfire swarm, only it homes in on the nearest enemy. They would all check eachother's targets, so they all go after different targets. Also, my swarmer bomb idea, dropping a bomb that dissolves into heat seeking missiles.
-Several materializers drop from the sides, and let loose marines, probably gunner marines. Give the beam spinup time, and in the marine's lua coding check if the cannon's spinning up. If it is, then make them get placed in craft doors in the ypsilon's main body somehow, or print a warning on the top screen, and say how long it is until the cannon fires, and give the marines a goto command to the ypsilon's doors, to be updated whenever the ypsilon moves. Boy do you know how retarded the GoTo Behavior is, and why don't you love the uber warrior idea? -Foa

FINAL STAGE
It should be a massive missile storm, where emitters on the ypsilon's sides activate, and a swarm of heat seeking or drunken missiles come out to destroy anyone who ever got close. After that, AAL forces are deployed to clean up anyone who didn't die, and the ypsilon flies out of there, to no refund, because the target painter means you never paid for it in the first place. It'd better be missiles + boom goes the dynamite... -Foa

SUB-WEAPONS - controllable sub-entities that could get destroyed independently
-Several Amber turrets mounted on the side, and they'd be a mix of rapidfire and mega shot.
-A copy of Darlos' shield, but much more powerful. It would not only remove kinetic energy, it would reverse it, and deflect the bullets.

A mission would be good, only make it you're trying to stop someone from calling the ypsilon, and failing that, you're going to buy from their own supplier and get a ballistic MPAM to take it down. It would be fun. Tank armed with everything versus a fly with a rocket launcher.

We need something that is even harder to withstand than the first Ypsilon.

i disagree. for something you're going to use more than once, you need something that is fun to use. not just boringly raping; interestingly superpowered is more fun. it is a superweapon, but it should be both overcome-able and interesting to be beaten by. not BOOOOOODSHYOURDEADHAHAHAH.

1: Yes it would. A machine gun can rip a man apart, yet it doesn't rape any terrain. Not in my reality anyway.
2: Because the warriors just evaporating would cause a loss.
3: Wut.

1. A machine gun isn't a ♥♥♥♥ huge SPACE CANNON.

2. That doesn't make any sense.

3. Idiot.

Am I the only one that thinks that having a totally overpowered and rapage Ypsilon would be fun?

I say no to the idea of making it overcomeable or not completely annihilating. I would rather it just rapes everything instantly.

But that's me.

'Kay then, use it in a multiplayer match. Watch your enemy rape you back. Or even add it to your activities :P

I would add it to the activities of the Maginot mission.

That would be fun if you enjoy getting violently ass-raped with a cosmic scale space cannon.

Hahah that would be awesome. I will do that as soon as I know how.

I think I'm part of a minority here.... Very rarely do I actually try and play the game like it's meant to be played. I just like to screw around. Hence me wanting the Ypsilon to be omnipotent and totally annihilating.

I just screw around with it too. I haven't played a skirmish in ages, because I no longer find it fun to spend ages building a bunker.

I skirmish all the time, but really I just put the brain bunker deep underground and I'm done with that. I never play with multiple bodies either... Always just one Space Marine/Browncoat with whatever gun I feel like using, making rounds of the level and killing everything in sight.

I never got the hang of commanding multiple bodies.
