Post Requesting Advice
I'm new here and new to the game and i was wondering.

Should i buy the game first of all? Worth slightly over 10 pounds?

It looks great but i keep seeing this (If we complete the game) no definate saying that they are going to continue on the project..
I also looked at the method you pay with, it doesn't look very legit or protected and the choices seem very limited...Is this safe and will i get my license?

Speaking of licenses i've taken a quick look at some threads and people seem to have alot of problems with licensing...Is that going to be a problem? Also wondering how the licensing works considering you download new versions when available ect.

If any one knows, i haven't a clue because i only just got here, will this game be multiplayer as in online? If any one knows for definate or so.

Also quickly adding (uhh bug or help section or some thing) that i have played a older version and i liked it, i even managed to plug in a Wired Xbox 360 controller as player 2. In the most recent version the game does not pick up my xbox controller at all i believe and the options given only let you customize a...what i think is a Super nintendo styled gamepad and a Playstation 2/3 controller? Not so sure but any help would be appreciated on that little note.

So uhh if any one knows any answers to any of the above please post! Thank you and sorry if i offended any one ect.

If you don't buy it now, it will just get more expensive the longer you wait.

If you want to support Data, then yes. If you want to play the game to its full extent and continue to do so for at least a year of future development time, then yes. If you're just picking it up and not entirely sure about it, quite honestly, don't buy it.

The game will be completed; the main man Daniel Tabar has spent the last seven years working on it; he's not about to give up on that. And the Plimus transaction is entirely safe, guaranteed.

The number of people who have problems with licensing is vastly overshadowed by the number of people who don't. You just don't see people making threads about "LICENSING WORKED PERFECTLY THANKS A TON".
The current key system is probably going to stay mostly unchanged through the rest of the builds; that means that you will get a key at this point in time that you will be able to use on every build throughout the rest of them. If you install a new build of CC directly over your old one, it will also usually keep you registered, but if you do get unregistered and lose the key, you can easily recover it off licensing.datarealms.com.

Cortex Command in the current RTE engine will never, ever, have online play between two people in full realtime. I can promise you that.

Last time I tried to use a wired 360 gamepad it worked fine, and to the best of my knowledge they're the official means of gamepad testing and support, so I'm not sure what your problem is.

Thanks for the reply Grif, it means alot :)

I guess i do kinda want to support data even though i dont know them. :P
Just didn't like the wording they used on there website, can't garentee it'll be finished so you could be paying for what your downloading now ect ect. It's unlikely and brought a shadow of doubt over my mind but yeah...Did you say seven years? Is it a huge team effort or just a team of about 10 people or so? Sounds like it's been dragging itself slowly.
Completely true as well, you don't get many thank you's so yeah your probably right, i only took a quick look any way.
No Multiplayer D: (has now read the big scary bold multiplayer threads)

Now this is what i need help with. Have you tried the controller as of the latest version or so? If you have what settings do you use on the...uhhh...configuration page and what port do you plug your controller into? I kinda tried them all and it worked straight away on a older version.
Thanks for your advice Grif

It's one guy. Data. Daniel Tabar.
EDIT: Oh, and content has been done by numgun, capnbubs, and TheLastBanana for the last two releases.

This thread is clearly over. gg Grif on the reply. If you wanna chit-chat with someone about DRL, go get in the IRC channel.

It's bad enough you made two threads for the same topic. You are lucky this isn't Facepunch.

No, i made this thread for several things which covered general discussion, now its been narrowed down to my final last piece of advice i wanted.

No idea then grif..i did a reinstall and moved my redirectory from Program files (as its been said to mess up Cortex and has done for me) now so i will attempt it again, thanks for testing it now i know that it's just me.

After attempting it again no dice, i don't understand the controller works just fine and it was working before the latest update so...hmmm :sad

Scratch that, it's working! No idea why its suddenly working though, i restarted Cortex and had the controller already plugged in and attempted to configure the dual pad controls and it worked, although i already tried that before but ah well. Thank you grif for helping me overall, :D
-ends thread somehow-
