And they inevitably end up being discussions when you can leave a comment.
Also this is a forum for discussions and announcements regarding CC, not made for or ideal for petitions.

While both petitions and discussions are fine, limiting a discussion to one side's opinion as a petition does is lame.

What should be done here and on similar forums for petition-ish opinion counting, is a poll asking if members agree with OP, and then both sides can discuss it in the thread.

SIMPLE.

This is a petition. Alias an individual who complains about something and is trying to get more people to complain about it. That's what the point of this is.

Personnally, I think the reload times are fine, and there are worse gameplay issues in CC.

Well having all these fancy keys on my keyboard and this pretty layout for forming words on would be pretty pointless if I only used them for "lol, me 2".

As a "petition", I suppose there's some notion that the developers will see this and decide to change the game because of the amount of support shown. How god damned rigged can you get with "amount of support shown" if those who don't agree with this concept aren't supposed to post?

But you don't actually want that. Do you REALLY not want a gun that is more powerful? Or hell, if you don't, then don't use them! They're obviously well balanced if the long reload time is enough to spark this thread.

If there CAN be more powerful guns that can be balanced in any way to fit the game, there should be. If you'd prefer guns which are balanced in the other direction, fast reload but low power, then do that!

Rawtoast, what the hell.
First you complained about people complaining in a petition against it,
then you complained in the petition against it.

My point is this:
YES, YOU CAN BALANCE GUNS WITH LONG RE-LOAD TIMES
but. Making them so long it's basically one shot is just annoying (see AAL).
There are better ways. look at the coalition snipers. There's your maximum re-load time. if that's too powerful, up the cost, reduce the damage or both.

Simple.

Also, signed, signed, and signed.

I think an ammo system would be good. Like you buy X weapon and you get X number of magazines free with it. Then you can buy a universal "Ammo" item which will give X number of magazines to the actor that picks it up, for all his weapons. There could be small, medium and large ammo packs which add 50%, 75% and 100% of the number of magazines originally recieved with the weapon, respectively.

Even if this is a crap idea, signed anyway

Holy crap way too complicated.

I see how it'd be nice for some people but I don't like my CC with micromanagement.

Reload times is one thing, but what's up with you not being able to fire when the reloading... text disappears and you hear the charging sound? It usually takes at least 1-2 more seconds for the uber cannon to fire after the reloading is "complete". Same with some other ridiculously long reload weapons, like the RADD (oops).

Long reloads....Hmmm....Sometimes I hate it, sometimes it doesn't bother me.

When I'm playing as a single actor I would get frustrated , but if I got a whole base of actors I'd go and manage other matters while it reloads. This guy reload, that guy goes covering fire, no problem with that. Or else I would be pumping rockets with one actor all the time, where's the tactics then?

The single weapon that annoys me every time I reload is the uber cannon, and that's it.

Yeah, that would be better suited to something with long lasting characters throughout storylines. You're already micromanaging between your actors, their devices, and gold resources enough as it is, keeping track of the ammo of all the actors is too deep and complicated.
For particular CC game modes it might be good, but not for general CC gameplay.

It's the UBER cannon. UBER!!! That implies that it's the most powerful gun in the game. It fires an UBER shell. It does UBER damage. It would be stupid if you could just use the Uber gun, the big big biggest vanilla gun, just whenever. It's clearly supposed to be for strategical moments. Case-specific stuff.

I like the idea of weapons that are suited out for different circumstances rather than balanced to work in all cases and times the same. More strategy.

Weapons have been made in the past that cost money per shot. If you want to balance your weapon, make each bullet cost money.

*shoot*

Balance: -1000000 $

*shoot*

Balance: -1000500 $

*shoot*

ect. As a mod weapon it would be cool and preventing the money from going to negative values is probably possible with Lua, but in official content I would only consider this sort of function ONLY for a superweapon. And even then I'd rather think of many other ways to give traits to it for balancing purposes.

But really guys, point taken. Data did mention some weapons being too powerful (not sure if they are still that, since the last time I fixed them and nerfed them alot.) I'll most likely reduce the power of some weapons and up their costs and weight a little in order to reduce the reload time. I'm sure I'll(and the rest of the team will) find a good way to pull it off.

But see, this goes back to the convo earlier about whether or not it was appropriate for me to post in here if I disagreed.

Nummy, you shouldn't take this post as a general consensus that the reloading time is too long. It is more than likely that there are a great many people who are, like me, content with the current reload times, but didn't post in here because they don't have as loose a definition of "petition" as I do.
