I love it. It makes you shoot more accurate. Let your bullets hit the target not the grass.

Dude, so you like waiting 10 seconds til your next shot? I mean this makes the game boring imo, and i have to edit the code myself to make the game more fun.

No it doesn't. It makes you get more frustrated when you miss.

Code:
ReloadTime = 9000

From uber cannon. I mean this is what makes the game boring. The fun part is destroying anything that comes towards you and seeing their flesh flying everywhere :)

Somebody needs to present an easy way to divide all values, that follow an = after a string matching "ReloadTime", by a number. Now who's going to do it?

Or one person could reduce every reload time in the game and post it. :)

Or numgun could stop ruining the guns.

The game would be way too easy. Because AI actors are inevitably more disposable than player actors, faster reload times automatically favor the player because it's rare that the computer even gets to finish a clip as is. The odds are already heavily stacked against the AI.

Or is it not about the challenge for you? Are you content to just watch stuff blow up?

Yes, i think thats it. I mean we dont need to game to be realistic, we want it to be fun. I think.

You do realize that if the reload times become very small or non existant, your skirmish matches will become hell.

Sure, I will(or someone else on the team) reduce the reload and balance that with other traits, but only on certain weapons that we'll see it fit. Remember that CC is a tactical assault game and cover is important and taking advantage of someone who is reloading his weapon is very interesting and fun.

No matter what, you're going to end up killing 10-100 times more AI than they will kill you. That is, if you have any skill. All reload times do is break up the action far more than necessary.

I'm not talking about reducing anything to less than an assault rifle's reload time. I think that's good. But lots of weapons have ones that take far too long. You don't need 2 minutes to exploit a reload time. That's ridiculous.

Now, i dont mean make the reload times so that every gun is basically sub-auto, but make it a fraction of what it is.

I totally agree with Nums - Cortex Command is very much about cover. From the walking mechanics alone you should know that it's not a bust down the door and pump'em full of lead game.

And if, say, the heavy sniper rifle had a reload time anywhere near that of an assault rifle, where would the challenge/balance be? Where would the need for cover be? Hell, already the heavy sniper rifle reloads fast enough to make it usable in close quarters, and that just shouldn't be. You say that the guns should be nerfed in other respects, but then what? Could you image a CC without the Heavy Sniper Rifle performing in the way that it does? Absurd! The rocket launchers doing less damage? It would look stupid. Make everything cost more? How often do you really keep that in mind anyway?

The point is if you're the kind of player who would rather play fast-paced, no planning, no patience action, stick to the assault rifles and handguns. With what you're proposing, there would be absolutely no need for handguns. It would just set everything off.

There IS no need for handguns. It's always much easier to carry a basic assault rifle (ak-47 <3) than any smaller weapon; the price difference is marginal and the benefits far outweigh it anyways.
