All I see is a whole load of porn, a movie, a TV show and a game. Nothing legal is present. [Thats the joke!]

SUCKS. I paid 30 bucks for a game, oh guess what, you can't play it, why, you need to patch it. Patched. It says it still isn't patched. Patch again. Ain't working. Fine let's just go play Battlefield 2 then, oh whoops, kicked for saying 'poo', join again and you get auto-banned, for what, nothing. ♥♥♥♥ you and your Punkbuster ♥♥♥♥ - take VAC as an example, it doesn't suck at all. Actually there is one legal thing: VLC media player http://www.videolan.org/vlc/Whoa... Also, Falcon X, i'd like to point out that there is no such thing as a 'legal' torrent, because if whatever you're torrenting is legal, you wouldn't be needing to torrent it. Makes sense, right?

I had a experience with EA, I never buy their games, nor torrent them either. I bought BF2142 or what ever it is called from their site, DIRECTLY FROM EASTORE.COM, and I GO TO PLAY IT, BUT NO MY KEY IS ALREADY IN USE! God I hate them. They also made spore a pile of steaming ♥♥♥♥ for 8 year old girls.

Re: Piracy.
Pirating because you don't have enough money is bad. You wouldn't steal a Ferarri because you can't afford it , would you? Pirating because you're going to use it for a short time is also bad. You wouldn't steal a Ferarri because you're just going to your cousin?

If the company does not sell the game anymore, no person is hurt. Torretning legal stuff is for sites that have little bandwith and are facing popular demand for something. Oh, and to the above - You woudn't download a car? Finally, the big corps have one advantage over the little guys that makes them worthey of a take-down - political corruption influence. MaximDude wrote: Torrenting legal stuff is stupid. Why not direct download? Its faster, and safer. Depends on where you're direct downloading from. I tried DL'ing W7 from MS, but it was going to take a good five hours (back when they had the rush right after release), so I torrented it in one hour. EDIT: A few other things are nice about torrents. 1. They're easy. Once you have the torrent file, you don't have to worry about having your computer on the entire time. You can stop, start, pause, and restart all you like. 2. They're backed up. Ever run across that one link that you absolutely needed, but it was broken? If torrenters weren't portrayed as such bad people, they would seed for longer and files would be available long after the parent company or group had gone under or slowly died off. 3. Concurrency. You can have tons of torrents going at the same time, seeding and leeching, while still retaining plenty of bandwith for yourself. At least with uTorrent, the torrent app gracefully scales back its usage when you start browsing or gaming.

Re: Piracy.
even though torrenting OSes like W7 is sometimes legal, it's an easy way to become a part of a botnet

Dude, torrenting isn't illegal. Example: Someone can rob a bank, and put the money in a safe, right? Are safes illegal? Torrenting is simply a way to move large files easily to people. It just happens to be good for warez.
